Meet Loretta Nwandu

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Loretta Nwandu. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Loretta, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
I truly believe self care is a daily activity. I’m very intentional about my spirit, mind, body, soul and finances. Self care for me is ensuring I’m getting myself aligned spiritually with the Word of God and meditating on the Word, allowing it to renew my mind. It means I’m yielded to what the Holy Spirit says to me.

When I choose the right food for my body, detox, take the right nutritional supplements, exercise & drink water, that’s also self care.

Ensuring that I don’t allow anything negate the fruit of the Spirit (Love, joy, peace etc) in me is self care. I’m very protective of my inner peace.

Additional things I do for self care are getting a massage almost every month, getting a facial monthly & ensuring I make time for relaxing activities either by myself, with my husband or with loved ones (e.g movie night, staycations, vacations, game night, social hang outs etc)

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Seek Ye First The Kingdom of God & His righteousness: I’m nothing without God The Father, The Son & The Holy Spirit. Success is very spiritual. When you’re spiritually grounded & aligned, there will be peace in your heart about your journey through life. Even when I create my to do list now, I prioritize the things on the list that are Kingdom assignments and when we continue to put God first, He will make room for us to be put first.

2. Relationship Management: I’m not perfect at this and I’m still a work in progress, however I try to be very intentional about people I build relationships with. The people closest to you can either make you or break you & this includes your virtual mentors and coaches. Who are you listening to? Are they assets to your divine purpose or liabilities? Is the relationship drawing you closer to Gods will for your life? Even if it’s just emotional support some people are providing, we must be very intentional about our relationships.

3. Humility: This character trait will take you very far in life. Your name will be brought up in rooms for you to be elevated because of how much people enjoyed working with you. Being humble means that you choose community over ego, so we are community minded and community driven instead of being ego driven and ego minded. A servant leader can become a very successful transformational leader because of this trait. You are not being called to slavery, but we are certainly called to service to humanity by God.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
The Holy Spirit is my number 1 mentor and scriptures that I may have meditated on our studied in the past or written on my heart will pop up when I have challenges to help direct and order my steps.

I have an amazing husband, family, friends and even strangers that have given me wise counsel on certain challenges but ultimately I check with the Holy Spirit to ensure that every counsel is spiritually aligned.
