We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ariana Luna a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariana, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic started with the example of my parents. They cultivated a beautiful and abundant life by doing the hard work, and also having a lot of fun along the way. Because of the example they set, I’ve been able to cultivate my own ever evolving version of abundance and success. They instilled in me how important the balance is to work hard and enjoy life harder.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Currently I’m focused on providing trauma informed care to those who need it. My offerings provide a space where humans can dive into their bodies and explore the messages hidden there. Through breathwork, sound healing and energy work, our subconscious is invited to open up and express what has been lying underneath. Our intelligent bodies hold so much for us and they’re just waiting for the opportunity to show us their wisdom.
My personal healing journey started when I became Reiki certified after intense physical trauma and since then, I’ve been cultivating more and more skills to provide for others. I found myself again through energy healing, through sound healing and even more through breath work. Utilizing my own processes and journey with these modalities has informed me how best to show up for others, no matter where they are in their healing journey.
I offer 1:1 for Reiki sessions. 1:1, Couples and group sessions for breath work and sound healing.
While I find 1:1 sessions to be incredibly powerful, group or couples session also offer a different level of support due to the energy that is able to communicate between the participants. Each session is completely different and it’s been an honor to witness humans explore themselves in such a powerful way.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back to where I started from, I was so broken and lost. My entire world view and view of myself had been shattered and I wasn’t sure where to start. So I began with individual and group therapy which saved my life, literally. Through my connection to my group, I was introduced to Reiki which opened a whole new world for me. Finding Reiki showed me ways I could heal myself, which I thought would never be possible. All these years later, I’m continuing to learn and grow because of it. I am forever grateful for the humans who helped me along to find this path.
My advice for anybody starting their healing journey or even being curious about these modalities is: listen to your gut. Your intuition will spark when you need that confirmation, listen to it. With so many options nowadays, it can be hard to discern which modality/facilitator/group is right for you. So sit with yourself and ask “is this what I need right now?” And then do your research about it. Ask people if they’ve tried it or heard of the facilitator, look up their socials or website to see if you vibe. Be your best advocate.
Every modality or facilitator isn’t for everyone and that’s ok! It’s important to feel really secure, seen and heard when you’re diving into somatic healing and I promise you there’s a modality and facilitator out there for you.
Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
I love this question!
For me, sticking with my strengths really serves me in certain areas and at certain times. And, it’s been so vital to my growth to venture to the sharp edges, face the things I fear and walk towards the dark places.
Through love, anything is possible. Cultivating love for myself and trusting my abilities gives me the strength to navigate the sticky places. That’s a huge part of my offerings for others when I’m holding space for them: you can do hard things and come out the other side with more pieces of yourself while I’m right by your side. With the support we need, guidance and love, we are capable of SO much more than we allow ourselves to believe.
Becoming more whole and aware of ourselves has to come from a place of love for ourselves first and foremost. After that? We have more knowledge to lead ourselves and our community through anything.
