Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Halie Rose Bloom. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Halie Rose , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Resilience is a tricky word—one that often carries an unspoken weight. Many shy away from it because it implies an expectation to endure, to always bounce back. For as long as I can remember, people described me as the child who was “resilient.” It wasn’t a title I chose for myself, but something that became part of my identity, simply because of who I was.
But is it truly resilience? Or is it a defense mechanism born from the need to survive? I believe it’s a bit of both. And in reflecting on that, I know my mother had everything to do with it. She shaped me into someone who didn’t just watch their peers eating alone in the dining room—I joined them. I didn’t take “no” from teachers as the final answer; I pushed back, determined to find the “yes” I knew was there. Financial burdens never stopped me from pursuing what I loved, because I refused to let money define my worth or limit my dreams.
But let’s be clear—it isn’t always a pretty picture. Resilience doesn’t mean a life without struggle. There have been countless moments of tears, exhaustion, and doubt. There are times when it feels like too much, when the weight of everything feels overwhelming. That’s the human experience. Being resilient doesn’t mean being invincible. It means having the strength to keep going, even when you feel like crumbling. And that’s something I’ve learned from my mother—how to rise through the struggles and embrace the moments of vulnerability. It’s not just about pushing through; it’s about accepting the hard days, knowing that they, too, are part of the journey. Resilience is about thriving through the tears, the exhaustion, and the messiness of being human.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As a Therapist, I have the privilege of guiding people through some of the most vulnerable and transformative periods of their lives. What excites me most about this work is creating a space where people feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Every day, I witness clients uncover their inner strength, confront difficult emotions, and grow in ways they might never have thought possible.
Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal violence, or simply feeling weighed down by the stress of life, I’m here to walk beside them on their path toward healing. My approach is all about collaboration—therapy isn’t about “fixing” someone. It’s about empowering individuals to find their own voice, gain insight into who they are, and develop the tools they need to thrive.
What makes my work special is the deep belief I hold in resilience, vulnerability, and authentic connection. I aim to create a nurturing, non-judgmental environment where clients can safely explore their emotions, heal from past wounds, and embrace their full potential. I want people to know that they don’t have to go through their struggles alone. My role is to support them every step of the way. I cherish the role I have in my clients’ lives and look forward to being their cheerleader, sounding board, and therapist all rolled into one!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most impactful elements in my overall journey have been community, self-love, and dedication. Community has always played a huge role in my life. I often say I was “raised by a village” because I’ve been surrounded by an incredible support system of friends, family, mentors, and colleagues who’ve helped shape who I am today. They’ve been there not just in moments of success but in moments of challenge, offering guidance and unwavering support. For me, community is about building relationships that lift you up and push you forward.
Self-love is another critical part of my journey. It’s about more than just self-care; it’s about deeply recognizing my own worth and understanding that it’s okay to prioritize myself. Learning to set boundaries, to rest when needed, and to embrace my own value has been a transformative process. Self-love isn’t always easy, but it’s essential for navigating life’s ups and downs with resilience and authenticity.
Lastly, dedication has been my anchor. I’ve always been driven by a deep commitment to my goals, whether in my personal life or professional pursuits. Dedication means showing up every day, even when things feel tough, and being willing to put in the work to grow. It’s about staying focused and passionate, no matter the obstacles. These three elements—community, self-love, and dedication—have been the foundation of my journey, shaping me into the person I am today.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
In the past 12 months, one of my biggest areas of growth has been learning to slow down and truly stay present in the moment. I’ve always been driven by future goals and the “what’s next?” mentality, but I’ve realized that constantly thinking ahead can pull me away from appreciating what’s in front of me. I’ve made a conscious effort to stop trying to fill in the gaps about the future and, instead, focus on where I am right now.
This shift has allowed me to experience life more fully, appreciating the small moments and giving myself the space to just be. It’s been part of a larger journey toward balance, where I’m prioritizing my well-being while embracing the uncertainty of life without needing to have everything figured out. Staying present, slowing down, and being okay with the unknown have been incredibly healing for me.
This growth has helped me not only cultivate a deeper sense of peace but also strengthen my relationships and enhance my overall self-awareness. Learning to embrace where I am, rather than constantly rushing toward the future, has been transformative.
