Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aleshia Moyamba. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aleshia , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
This is a layered question because where my confidence comes from now is very different from when I was younger. In my teens and 20s, my self-esteem was tied to external validation—certifications, accomplishments, and praise from others. As I’ve grown older, I’ve learned that real confidence comes from who I am, not just what I achieve. Now, my self-esteem is rooted in internal validation and qualities like kindness, generosity, curiosity, and simply striving to be a good person. While I value my professional accomplishments, they no longer define my worth.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a marketing project manager and also a writer and author. The most exciting part of my role as a project manager is guiding ideas from concept to completion, helping turn visions into reality. As a writer, I love using words to express myself and create meaningful connections with my readers. My newsletter, Spirit + Soul, is on hiatus, but readers can still subscribe at spiritandsoul.substack.com. I anticipate its return in early 2025.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I love this question! The first and most important trait is radical curiosity. When we approach life with curiosity, we keep an open mind, absorb more from our experiences, and uncover our true paths by asking the right questions. The more we ask, the more our purpose begins to unfold.
The second is resourcefulness. We live in an age where information is at our fingertips, and being resourceful has opened doors for me that might have otherwise remained closed. When I don’t know something, I don’t use it as an excuse—I explore every avenue until I find the answer.
Lastly, intuition. Trusting my gut has led me to opportunities because I’ve followed what felt right. Intuition is like a muscle; it takes time to develop, but once it’s strong, the possibilities are endless.
To cultivate radical curiosity, follow what piques your interest in the moment—you never know where it might lead. For resourcefulness, when you feel stuck, take action by learning something new or seeking advice. Often, we feel stuck because we’re not open to new information. Resourcefulness can shake that loose. As for intuition, trust yourself. When faced with a decision, stand firm in it. Even if the outcome isn’t immediate, you’re building the muscle to trust your inner voice.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho has been instrumental in my personal development. It tells the story of Santiago, a Spanish shepherd boy who embarks on a journey across the Sahara Desert to find treasure in Egypt. Along the way, he faces numerous challenges, but ultimately discovers that the true treasure lies in the journey, not just the destination.
Some of my favorite quotes from the book include:
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
“The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and get up eight.”
“Everyone seems to have a clear idea of how other people should lead their lives, but none about his or her own.”
These quotes remind me that persistence, self-trust, and embracing the journey are key to personal growth.
