We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ayewhy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi AyeWhy, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I haven’t always been as confident as I am now, some would say I was very shy in my younger days. After high school I became a lot more confident in myself and my life decisions just from being around like minded people and understanding my worth. Working retail for most of my life always played a big part in my ability to speak to people of all nationalities and relate to many as well. Once I found music and became a song writer and performer my self-esteem and confidence went through the roof! Having an understanding that I was a really good performer made me more comfortable expressing myself the way I wanted to.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Anthony Young, most know me by my stage name “AyeWhy”. I am a singer, rapper, song writer, visual artist, cannabis influencer, and business owner. I am known to be a jack of all trades with a lot on his plate most of the time, but I love where I am currently in my career. I’ve been writing and recording music for 6 years now and performing for about 4.5. With in that time I have dropped about 6 singles and an album “visionary”. I have also put on a music festival MAP Fest “Music Art and Poetry festival” hosting over 2,000 people 2 years in a row and gathering over $10,000 in sponsorship within the 2 years. I have also helped put on 2 art events with the help of my team at the time “JOD Art Alliance”. My life has been nothing but a rollercoaster and excitement all at the same time. At the moment I am working on “Visionary Part 2” and that is my main focus as of right now.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most valuable qualities that have contributed to my career success are kindness, diligence, and consistency.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
As I continue to advance in my career, I’m eager to collaborate with like-minded individuals who align with my values, understand my goals, and can both learn from me and offer their own insights in return.
