Meet Robyn Gutierrez

We recently connected with Robyn Gutierrez and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Robyn, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I stumbled upon my purpose through a series of unexpected turns. It was the very act of straying from my path that ignited a fire within me, which allowed me to move slowly towards my true calling. I mention that this was slow because I believe that being slow and intentional is also what has allowed me to find my purpose despite my desires to arrive fast and have what I want now.

After years of dedicated work in my field, through various promotions I gradually found myself moving away from the people. As time passed, I found myself feeling disconnected and unfulfilled. This realization is what sparked a journey of self-discovery and healing within me. I sought guidance from coaches and mentors and found myself desiring to reconnect with my core purpose: to make a positive impact on the world.

Throughout my life, I’ve always been a helper, driven by the desire to uplift others. My mission is simple: to leave each person I encounter—whether through interaction, collaboration, or community building—better off than I found them.

By sharing my story, I hope to inspire others to stay committed on their own journeys of self-discovery. Remember, it’s never too late to reconnect with your purpose and make a difference.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

As a trauma-informed breathwork facilitator and Embodiment & Self-Compassion Coach, I’m passionate about empowering heart-centered high achievers to heal and thrive. Through my company, Reflect & Refine, I guide individuals on their journey to self-love and self-compassion. Helping individuals slow down, live in the present moment and prioritize themselves.

With over 16 years of experience as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst holding a Master’s in Counseling, I blend mindfulness, embodiment work, and the art of self-love to create a unique and holistic coaching experience. I believe that self-love is the cornerstone of a meaningful and fulfilling life. By combining the power of breathwork with the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help clients cultivate a deep sense of self-compassion and live a life aligned with their values.

To foster a supportive and compassionate community, I host a monthly Self-Love Club on one Thursday a month at 12 PM PDT. Join us on zoom for free community, connection, and compassion. Find information for this club on my Instagram page (coachrobyn_)

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I believe three key qualities were instrumental in my journey:

1) Do it scared: Embracing uncertainty and taking risks, even when it feels scary, is essential. Remember, growth often happens outside of your comfort zone.
Advice: Start small. Take one step at a time. Celebrate each accomplishment, no matter how minor.
2) Self-Compassion and Self-Care: Treating yourself with kindness and understanding is crucial. It’s okay to make mistakes and experience setbacks.
Advice: Practice self-compassion daily. Prioritize self-care activities, such as meditation, yoga, or spending time in nature.
3) A Growth Mindset: Believing in your ability to learn and grow is empowering. Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and develop.
Advice: Cultivate a growth mindset by focusing on progress, not perfection. Learn from setbacks and use them as stepping stones to success.
Remember, your journey is unique and that being ready isn’t a feeling it is a decision. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Trust your intuition, stay true to your values, and enjoy the process.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

One of the biggest challenges I currently face is learning to trust the divine timing of the universe. I often find myself wanting to accelerate the process, eager to manifest my desires. However, I’ve come to realize that the universe has a unique plan for each of us.

To navigate this challenge, I’ve been focusing on:

Surrender: Letting go of control and surrendering to the flow of life.
Self-Compassion: Practicing self-kindness and understanding that it’s okay to feel impatient or frustrated.
Mindfulness: Staying present and focusing on the here and now.
Community and Support: Connecting with like-minded individuals who can offer encouragement and perspective.
By embracing these practices, I’m learning to trust the process and find peace in the journey.
