Meet Treal Phill

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Treal Phill. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Treal, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

I feel like hate comes from good ole competition, someone not being able to accept someone is better than them, and sometimes It can also be comparing their lifestyle and being jealous. So if thats the case then it means I’m definitely doing something right. At the beginning and end of the day Im proud of my God given ability so I’ve learned It’s nothing to ever be ashamed of. I believe deep down that the internal comparison when artists collaborate can sometimes create underlying tension as well which makes them less receptive to support you or acknowledge you even when you do it for them. I also feel that being an artist since I was young, starting with drawing & photography, definitely helped me be myself a lot more in my music. That comes from the fact that I always had family and peers critiquing my work from the get go so If anyone ever has something to say, I can either ignore it or make the necessary audible adjustments

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I learn and enjoy to create music In all facets and genres. I grew up In a pretty strict family so I couldn’t take the music as serious as I wanted until moving to Philly. Ever since I made the switch I’ve met hella people. The most exciting thing for me with music is finding new melodic elements I can incorporate with my voice, it makes the music that much more appealing and adds a certain mystique. The name Treal really just represents authenticity to the fullest.

My cousin is actually part of a creative collective called Militia thats slowly been rising through the underground. There are many other underground artists such as myself attending their fashion pop ups and up and coming afters. The first event had 100 RSVP and sold out of the militia merchandise. I will definitely be attending these. Another cool thing I’ll be doing is streaming myself recording, producing, and mixing all on stream with a few artists I’ll be introducing over time as things progress. I recently saw Diorvsyou, and south side silhouette perform In Philly and I’ll have to say It made me really miss being on stage. Soon I’ll be dropping some merch for Trealtality and more music but hopefully at a more consistent pace.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think my raw ability to make melodies with almost hypnotic rhyme schemes allows me to separate my voice.

Not caring about what anyone thinks, even your family at times, will propel you in a possible slow but ultimately, rewarding path.

I also believe my Faith in God allows me to believe I can accomplish what ever I set my mind to. That is ultimately where real confidence comes from if you ask me.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Im looking for artists and producers who love Atlanta and southern rap legends like Young Thug, JayDaYoungan, Kodak Black, Pluto, Lil Baby and Playboi Carti/etc. But mainly at the center is Unreleased Juice WRLD, Thug, Don Toliver and BIGBABYGUCCI. Another era that heavily dictates my production and my melodies is 2016-2018 Soundcloud. like the DJ Plugg Lil Uzi beats, Sidepce and Juice WRLD, and most definitely the Rise of the late XXXTENTACION.
