We were lucky to catch up with Preston Lewin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Preston, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Growing up, I was a quiet, introverted kid—not exactly the one you’d expect to take charge or command attention. But in high school, I became friends with Ani, this loud, rambunctious guy in band with a personality that was impossible to ignore. Ani didn’t care what people thought; he was unapologetically himself (or the characterization of his high energy attributes), and he brought this intense social energy everywhere he went. Being around him pushed me out of my comfort zone, and we became this dynamic pair, feeding off each other’s energy. I started to ‘fake it till I made it,’ picking up on his confidence until I was running on my own. By the time I graduated, I was confident to the point of having an ego, no longer that shy kid but a leader.
But true confidence doesn’t just come from loudness or even personality; it’s about the results you’re able to deliver. Over the years, as I’ve built my business and set my own standards, I’ve realized confidence is knowing that I can accomplish things most people wouldn’t even dare to attempt. I have big goals—goals that most people wouldn’t even understand—and they drive me to keep producing, to keep achieving, to keep raising the bar. Real confidence is rooted in those results. So even with what I’ve done so far, I’m always thinking, ‘What’s next?’ That’s what pushes me. It’s about never being complacent, always charging forward. I know what I’m capable of, and there’s a certain strength in always keeping my edge.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have the greatest job in the world. I make the premium PC Gaming experience accessible to EVERYONE. One hundred percent of every day is dedicated to that mission.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three things stand out that really shaped my journey: first, mastering sales. Sales isn’t just about selling a product; it’s about understanding people, learning to read them, connect with them, and make them believe in what you’re offering. Next is kindness—a quality people often overlook in the hustle of business. Treating people with respect and empathy has opened doors and built relationships that no amount of strategy alone ever could. And finally, having an unbreakable, no-excuses mindset, the complete opposite of a victim mentality. You either find a way or make one, and that’s been crucial in everything I’ve done.
For anyone just starting out, my advice is simple: Be the kindest human your clients have ever met, put in the reps and keep your head down. Show up, put in the work, and skip the complaints. Every hour you invest is setting a foundation. Focus on the process, on stacking up those small wins, and over time, you’ll build something real and unstoppable.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I remind myself that pressure is a privilege—it’s part of the game I chose to play. Living with chronic anxiety, that feeling of being on edge is a constant, but I’ve learned to channel it. When anxiety kicks in, I mentally reframe it as excitement, as fuel. Instead of letting it shut me down, I think, this is exactly what I signed up for; this is what it takes. Bring it on.
It’s not easy; there are no shortcuts. My approach is to keep moving, even when it feels tough. Action breaks through doubt. Every time I keep pushing, I’m proving to myself that I can handle it. Overwhelm becomes another part of the challenge, and facing it head-on builds resilience. My advice? Embrace the grind, stay focused on what you want, and keep moving forward, no matter how intense it gets.
