Meet Tal Raizer

We recently connected with Tal Raizer and have shared our conversation below.

Tal, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I have had this theory for about a year now, but I am Jewish. I was born in Israel. My grandparents are Holocaust survivors. I moved out of Israel when I was 6 years old, moved to Nigeria and lived there for 8 years before moving to the United States. I had always felt that Israelis were rough around the edges, myself included. Tough, stubborn, relentless when it came to what they want. After October 7th, 2023 with the tragedies that happened in Israel I came up with a theory that maybe we are like that because our ancestors and our grandparents had to have a survival mindframe. After being persecuted all their lives, they had to be rough around the edges. As a survival mechanism. I think that has a part in where I get my resilience from.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Tal Raizer and I am a Nurse Practitioner. This year I opened up a medical spa in Weston, FL where I focus on aesthetics and regenerative medicine. I feel that it is an exciting time in aesthetics as the industry is shifting from overuse to more natural aesthetics. I think that regenerative medicine has a unique ability to help us slow down the aging process and I am excited to be part of it. I worked in orthopedic surgery for 8 years prior to moving into aesthetics and my experience with using plasma for musculoskeletal injuries really shaped my vision for Plasma Med Spa. At Plasma Med Spa regenerative medicine meets compassionate care. Our mission is to empower individuals to embrace their best selves through advanced treatments that enhance both confidence and health. Founded on a deep commitment to personalized wellness, we bring a passion for helping clients achieve their aesthetic and wellness goals, ensuring every experience is transformative and empowering. We are currently one of the few providers in South Florida offering the ability to make filler out of your own blood and we pride ourselves in continuing to learn about new technologies and procedures as they advance.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think my drive for knowledge. I always want to be the best at what I do. When I switched to aesthetics, I took the necessary training courses, but wanted to hone my skills before I treated patients. I found a mentor who trained me and really gave me the confidence to do what I’m doing. I wouldn’t be here without her.

I think my belief in myself helped me to keep going every day. I know that I do a good job, that I am kind and honest and that kept me going. Believing that good people will succeed if they wake up everyday and try their best.

And finally, I think developing my social skills when it comes to marketing myself is still a learning process for me. I feel that this is something that I am honing in on. Even though I believe in myself, I find it tough to project that to others. I am definitely learning that if you want to succeed you need to make others believe it as well.

Advice that I would have for others starting out is to find someone who has been successful and learn from them. Take their advice and life lessons. I think there are lots of things I would have done differently if I had met my mentor earlier that could have set me up for success. But failing is also part of the journey.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

There is definitely more than one. Some of what has helped me are the people around me. My mom and stepdad, my kids, my husband who have had unwavering faith in me throughout the challenge of becoming a business owner. My sister especially who trusts me blindly and is my business partner. I cannot thank them enough for believing in me on days when I struggle to believe in myself.

My mentor, Danielle, who taught me everything I know and continues to encourage me and be my friend.

My friends who support me both in my business and as friends when I’m having a hard time.

I think resilience is key to achieving success. looking at failures as learning opportunities and knowing that you are growing as a person in this journey. When people ask me how my business is doing, I am always hesitant to say good because I always feel that I can do better. However, I do think that overall we need to celebrate non-financial successes more.
