Meet Laura Davis

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Laura Davis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Laura, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Back in 2017, my husband and I found out the only way we could have children was through IVF. I was agressively climbing the corporate ladder with goals to be an executive before 35 while balancing being a bonus mom. I’ll never forget our fertility doctor looking at me in his office and asking “Are you ready for a second full-time job?” He was referring to IVF, which includes a very strict and time-sensitive protocol of shots, medications, doctors appointments and procedures.

I was determined to go through IVF successfully (within the things I could control) without giving up my career ambitions. This desire led to me doing a deep dive into the data and research of effectively managing time as a working mom. My thought was that there had to be some kind of “hack” or “secret process” that was proven to be successful. What I found was that all of the data – including research studies, best practices and data – was created by, and for, men.

Very few women were included in studies on productivity or time management. So I decided to take the concepts that were already proven by science and tweak them to work for working moms. I did this throughout IVF, pregnancy and early motherhood. Friends and co-workers began to ask for advice on work life balance and finally in 2022 (after encouragement from my husband and mom) I created Time Management Academy where I help working moms ditch the hot mess and level up their work life balance using a prove time management framework.

This became my new purpose in life. I found that I no longer yearned to climb the corporate ladder and instead I work to help other women do this while still having it all.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a keynote speaker and time management strategist for working moms and the founder of Time Management Academy. My framework is based on 4 pillars of time management – principles, skills, mindset and capacity awareness.

My clients walk through these 4 pillars to create a simple and realistic system to manage their time – personally and professionally. TMA clients range from corporate executives, finance managers, entrepreneurs, business coaches, nurses, and so many other amanzing working moms.

The absolute best part of Time Management Academy is when a client shares how different they FEEL about their schedule and their time. Many women start working with me when they are overwhelmed, living in a constant state of chaos and like they’re treading water unable to catch up with life’s demands. After going through TMA, women have shared that they feel calm, certain of their ability to manage obligations, peaceful, and more in-the-moment with their kids and their family.

A great first step for working moms is to join my free Master Your Work Week Challenge, where you’ll learn a proven method to effectively manage your to-do list without feeling defeated at the end of each day. You can jump in at www.thelauradavis.com/workweek

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Sales skills were critical for me to learn early on in my business. Everyone is in sales, regardless of what you do for a living. Learning how to persude and communicate effectively with your customer in mind is priceless.

Tuning into and listening to my intuition is another skill that has been critical in my business and my life. Learning how to trust your intuition and how it speaks to you will help you exponetionally accelerate your business, your career and your goals.

Time management skills. 🙂 I would not be able to balance a business and a full-time job along with motherhood if it wasn’t for living every day using the framework I teach inside Time Management Academy.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I love collaborating with others who serve women! For the last two years, I’ve spoken in dozens of mastermind groups, online communities and group coaching client groups. I’ve also created custom workshops for corporate teams to help teams learn how to manage workloads, improve work life balance and increase effectiveness within the team.

I also love serving as a guest on podcasts, YouTube videos or live streaming shows.
