Oriana, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

One of my favorite quotes that single handedly defines my journey. My passion for fashion, travel and tradition all led me to discover so many of the things that make me happy today and I in turn get to share them with my followers. My passion for fashion led me to figure out a way to add color to my style effortlessly through my accessories. While my passion for travel and tradition led me to discover so many of the beautiful sides of my Sicilian culture which I took for granted growing up. My passions have given me purpose and gotten me through some difficult times in my life through a Bell’s Palsy diagnosis and divorce. During those times of darkness, i channeled all of my energy into creating the concept for my brand and building the many sides of the business. Fast forward to today, I get to tell the stories of my expereinces in Sicily through my designs. Whether it’s the handmade ceramics from Sicily or the Sicilian trinacria charm, I always wear my heart on my sleeve, literally.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Oriana LaMarca is a passionate designer and entrepreneur whose journey intertwines her heritage, creativity, and commitment to making a difference. Her roots in Sicily inspire her vibrant, sophisticated style, particularly through her love of accessories. Oriana is the founder of Oriana LaMarca Designs, a jewelry brand known for unique, bold accessories that empower women to express themselves confidently.

Oriana’s professional journey extends beyond her jewelry designs. Through her other venture, My Sicilian Love Affair, where she celebrates her Sicilian heritage by bringing a taste of Sicily to the world, through food, fashion and authentic experiences that reflect the heart of Sicilian culture. Her latest addition to her product offerings include guided tours in Sicily which includes offering unique activities like sunsets on the salt flats of Marsala and pasta-making classes, allowing others to connect deeply with Sicilian traditions.

In addition, Oriana has established Armcandy for a Cause, a philanthropic initiative that uses her jewelry as a platform for giving back. Through this initiative, she designs special pieces where a portion of the proceeds supports various charitable causes, allowing her customers to join her in making a positive impact.

Through these pursuits, Oriana embodies a blend of culture, design, and purpose, always focused on empowering others and honoring her heritage.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, one of the most important skills or qualities that were most important in my journey was my faith and trusting that everything happens for a reason both good and bad and even when something “bad” happens, you always have to look at the positives of the situation, because there always is! I rmemeber plenty of times where i did pop ups or trunk shows and only one person bought a bracelet, but I would quickly remind myself that one is better than none. One bracelet sold is one person more that knows about the brand and will talk about it and for me, that has been the best for of marketing, word of mouth. Keeping a positive mindset is the first step to success, and realizing that failure isn’t always a negative, it is a learning curve and part of your unique journey.
My advice for anyone early in their journey is to start by finding your passion, once you find your passion you must learn to keep a positive mindset!

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My family has and always will be my biggest support system but more specifically my mother. Since she started her own brand ZagaraHome as a passion project many years ago, while raising a family and working as an interior designer, she is the one person closest to me who understands exactly what it means to build a brand from scratch and manage family /personal life. She is my first call every morning to discuss the achievements and also vent about my stresses.
But it’s also important to surround yourself with likeminded people you can lean on and relate to. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to meet many fellow business owners both male and female that I can just call and we can talk about business whether its how to naviagte social media, employees or work/life balance.
