Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alexandr Litvin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alexandr , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
To answer this question, I’d like to start by mentioning that I’ve been working as a stylist for over 20 years, and this experience has had a significant impact on my self-esteem. Throughout my career, I’ve constantly faced growth and challenges, setting new goals for myself. I would say it all began with envisioning my goals, visualizing them, and then seeking inspiration in images and new places. This helped me understand what I wanted to achieve and to strive for something greater.
As I progressed through various stages of my development and began working with major companies, I felt a tremendous amount of support—first from my immediate supervisor and later from the brand itself. Believing in yourself, being passionate about what you do, and loving your work are crucial factors that ensure you have confidence in your choices and actions
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m currently exploring multiple paths, primarily as a stylist in New York, working in one of the city’s fashion salons. I’m deeply immersed in creativity and connecting with people, which has led me to study human behavior and psychology in relation to style and self-expression in society. It’s fascinating to delve deeper into understanding people’s preferences and how their image can transform their inner state.
Additionally, I plan to create a community for stylists that offers support for those who want to pursue their own paths, especially those who have experienced burnout and are looking to rekindle their passion for the profession. My goal is to establish a space for creatives where they can promote their personal brand within a supportive community.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I can confidently say that the driving force for me has always been the value of moving forward. No matter what happens, I choose myself and remain passionate about my work. I’ve always believed—and still do—that choosing to be a hairstylist was like winning a lucky ticket, and I’ve never regretted that decision.
My advice to anyone starting out or contemplating their creative path is to find love in whatever you do and fully commit yourself to it. Dedicate each day to your craft, study it, and enjoy the process. What truly matters is how deeply you are engaged in your passion!
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My biggest support has always been my family. When I started my career at 17, I had my fears, but thanks to my loved ones and their financial and emotional investment in my education, I am truly grateful for their love and belief in me.
