Meet Ritu Gupta

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ritu Gupta a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Ritu, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Confidence starts with knowing and accepting yourself. Recognizing my strengths and acknowledging my weaknesses have enabled me to be more comfortable with who I am. I like to start my day with positive affirmations, like “I am capable” or “I deserve success,” which helps me to focus on what I can do instead of what I cannot.
I believe in setting small and achievable goals. Each time I meet a goal, my belief in myself strengthens, which leads to greater self-esteem. For instance, If I am facing something big or overwhelming, I try break it down into smaller tasks. This makes progress more visible and tangible.
I am a firm believer that every setback is an opportunity for growth, not a reflection of your worth and every failure is a part of the learning process.
Having a support network of friends, family, or mentors who uplift and encourage you can make all the difference. I prefer to surround myself with people who believe in me and encourage me to be my best self.
I try to focus on my personal growth rather than comparing myself with others. Everyone has a different journey, and comparisons can lead to self-doubt. I feel extremely proud when I lookback at how far I’ve come, and it gives me the confidence to tackle any challenges that lie ahead in life.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am Dr. Ritu Gupta, an Orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists. I earned my Certificate and Masters in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Boston University, widely known as one of the top orthodontic programs in the country. After graduating from Boston University in 2013, I moved to Dallas and since then have been working as an orthodontist in various offices in the DFW area.

I am a proud owner of Bracify 3D orthodontics. It has 2 locations – Little Elm and Prosper serving Little Elm, Prosper, Frisco, Mckinney and surrounding areas.

At Bracify 3D Orthodontics, we take advantage of advanced 3D technology systems. Using a series of different scans and models, we have complete awareness of the particulars of our patients’ unique mouth! This allows us to design the most efficient and effective orthodontic treatment that enables us to reduce your treatment time.

We have invested in I-CAT FLEX, an award-winning technology that uses a cone-shaped beam to scan and quickly reconstruct a high-definition 3D image of your mouth on a computer. The information from the scan helps us to precisely analyze your mouth and plan a customized treatment plan based on your needs. In addition to state-of-the-art technology, we offer our clients many types of leading-edge modern braces, lingual braces, clear custom braces, and clear aligners. We believe our patients deserve only the best, and our staff works hard to deliver a superior experience at every visit.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

3 top qualities that helped me in my journey are

1. Resilience

2. Patience

3. Self confidence

My advise to the younger Orthodontists would be to be patient and persistent. Things will fall in place overtime if you are persistent and learn from your mistakes. Understand that failure is part of the learning process. Every setback is an opportunity for growth, not a reflection of your worth. Track your own progress and do not compare yourself with others.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?

Book that helped me in my personal as well as professional growth is ” Atomic Habits” by James Clear.

Couple of points that were most valuable were

1. The Power of Small Changes: Author’s central idea is that tiny, incremental changes can compound into significant results over time. This is a powerful reminder that we don’t need to make dramatic shifts all at once; consistent, small habits add up to massive transformations.
2. Identity-Based Habits: One of the most powerful concepts in the book is shifting the focus from “I want to do X” to “I am the kind of person who does X.” Building identity-based habits creates a stronger foundation for lasting change.
