We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sarah Olivia Lawrence a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sarah Olivia , we can’t begin to explain how much we appreciate you sharing about your PPD experience, but we can say that so many in our community are suffering from or have suffered from postpartum issues including postpartum depression and so you sharing your story and how you overcame it might help someone who is going through it right now or in the future. What can you share with us about how you overcame PPD? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
Question: How did you overcome postpartum depression?
I overcame postpartum depression through two major factors:
#1. Embracing the balance of my inner strength and nurturing my spirit. My inner strength guided me to set boundaries and not take things personally. During that time, I needed to spend quality moments alone with my husband and baby before inviting others over. This allowed us to integrate as a family, establish our own new norms, and grow closer together while completely shutting out outside perspectives and Google searches. We set boundaries around not looking up harmful questions online.
#2. Nurturing my spirit meant learning how to receive help. When people say that new mothers should receive support, it’s often a blanket statement. New mothers need to determine from whom they feel comfortable receiving help, as it can be a vulnerable space. Sometimes that support comes from a professional, which is what I ultimately sought through a government-funded program called Healthy Families. They sent a representative to our home who acted almost like a therapist, helping us understand our baby’s milestones and essentially grow with our child. These two factors were crucial for my mental health, allowing for a harmonious flow of energy.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I create courses and guides to help queens reshape their life narratives, empowering them to embrace a more vibrant existence. I believe in helping people connect with their origin stories. Your origin story encompasses the aspects of life you were born into that you can’t change, such as your race and financial situation. I guide queens toward a new life through specific spiritual techniques that I learned during my Tarot journey.
The most exciting aspect of my work is witnessing the transformations in my clients as they step into their true selves. However, I don’t believe that spirituality is meant to be a solo project. I’d like to combine the spiritual realm with the mental and physical planes, so my programs include workshops, retreats, and even physical fitness coaching from experts.
I am thrilled to announce the launch of the Queen Circle, a nurturing space for women to embark on electrifying, life-changing journeys together. In addition, I host women’s retreats where participants can invite friends and family to immerse themselves in a holistic atmosphere filled with fitness, gourmet meals, and intuitive exercises. My goal is to create a safe haven for women to “glow up” without external pressures, offering options such as childcare for mothers and flexible payment plans to make these experiences accessible. I envision establishing a scholarship program for our retreats to enable even more women to partake in this transformative journey.
Ultimately, my mission is to foster a supportive community where women uplift one another, change their life narratives, and deepen their connections with themselves and each other. Transformation is possible for anyone willing to embrace it, and I invite everyone to join us on this adventure of self-discovery and empowerment!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The first skill I didn’t realize I was developing was the ability to share knowledge as I learned. My brother was always by my side, and as we faced various obstacles, we would talk for hours about personal transformation. This exchange allowed us to swap roles between student and teacher, emphasizing the importance of both. To build a firm foundation, be open to knowledge while also sharing what you’ve learned to bless others. Choose your partners wisely, as this dynamic enhances learning. I extract wisdom from every situation, which I call “dropping gems.” I believe the divine has scattered diamonds throughout our lives, guiding us back to wholeness and love. I document my journey, taking away at least three wins from every experience. As you level up and share freely, you will be blessed. This skill takes time to develop but has transformed my life—mentally, spiritually, financially, and physically.
The second skill I learned was how to infuse good energy into my projects. As a Product Development graduate from FIDM, I initially struggled to find inspiration and often felt less talented than others. I directed my energy downward, unable to see the beauty in my ideas. However, I realized that without positive energy, hard work is pointless. Activating your third eye helps your business soar. This intuitive feeling guides you to implement great ideas, but we often silence that voice. By creating a calming environment—removing time constraints and focusing on inspiration—I learned to make myself happy. For instance, I enjoy specific snacks when working on jewelry or planning retreats, and I set the mood with candles, music, and nature images.
The third skill I developed was treating my life like a runway. This mindset encourages playfulness and creativity. You are already on the cosmic runway, whether you realize it or not. Instead of fixating on performance, focus on being the director, producer, and designer of your life. By honing your skills, you can hire yourself and know what to look for in your journey. You are a masterpiece, responsible for your life collection. Each day, decide what walks down your runway. Will it be judgment and fear, or a beautiful demonstration of human potential? How you present yourself is part of your design. Step onto that stage, regardless of your business or message, and at some point, mute the noise and move forward with reckless abandon.
We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
To be honest, I am a firm believer in strengthening your strengths. However, I also think it’s important to acknowledge that it involves a bit of both. I envision what I’m naturally good at as the main character in my life story; it’s a gift and ability that every person is born with, though it may be more obvious to some than others. I don’t believe that this talent is solely linked to money; rather, it encompasses the things you’re naturally blessed with. Just because something comes easily to me doesn’t mean I shouldn’t take responsibility for strengthening it, much like a professional athlete would. I now dedicate most of my time to what I am naturally good at and amplify that energy.
These roles help me maintain a balanced life, allowing me to be a mom, have the energy to work, manage client relationships, and nurture my relationships with my husband and friends. I’ve cultivated a small circle of amazing people who form my support team for the other aspects I’m still working on. I treat my friends as experts in their specific areas of strength, which allows me to be in a position to receive and learn from them.
I believe that when you lead with your strengths, you attract strong friends. When you attract strong friends, they can share their expertise with you, and you can grow together, whether through direct collaboration or observation.
I truly enjoy having friends who excel in specific areas. When we come together, our individual stories become more dynamic as we help and train each other in various aspects.
Ultimately, whichever path you take, embrace it with confidence. Before you know it, you’ll be surrounded by your strengths.
