Meet Kat Polsinelli

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kat Polsinelli a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kat, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

At it’s simplest core in order for me or anyone to develop confidence and self-esteem, you have to learn to love you for you. Now I know many will say, “but I do love me”. I disagree. You may like you or tolerate you but if you loved you, truly loved every bit of you, your confidence and self esteem would soar! You see I could tell anyone years ago that ,”of course I love me” but I knew when I said it, it didn’t feel real. Think of all the times you put yourself down, you call yourself names, you get mad at yourself for not knowing something, doing something right, etc. That is not true self love, and true love for yourself is where you build the confidence and self-esteem from that no one can take away from you.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

What do I do? Well to simplify that one down into one sentence, I would say, “I transform life’s challenges into strength, one lotus journey at a time.” This is the wording that you will find on my socials as well. At my core I am a person who initiates change. For those that want a job title, well I am a few things.

I am a motivational speaker – here to inspire others to want to change in their owns life, in a way that best works for them.

I am an MC – here to lead, energize, and captivate the audience I am hosting.

I am an International Best-Selling co-author – where I shared my story of what rattled me awake over the last 5 years and how it changed the way I lead and communicate with my children, my spouse, my family, and everyone else. ( the book – “Rattled Awake vol 6 The Podcaster’s Edition” is on Amazon)

And I am a podcaster of a show called “Real Chat with Kat” a top 10% globally ranked podcast on 3 radios, sharing stories of entrepreneurs from around the world to create support, share failures, business tips, and more.

For me, what I am most excited about is this next level in the journey. As we are close to a new year I sat back and really looked at what I was doing, what I wanted to do more of (and less) and what were my big, audacious goals. Getting the opportunity to speak to others about my story of domestic abuse, what it was like beginning from scratch with 2 small children, and sharing the pieces of me that I thought no one would ever understand is what is lighting me up right now. I have the ability to not just tell my story but to connect with others and their own stories.

We all have these hidden scars, these silent battles that we don’t talk about for fear of being judged, disowned, or worse. I am here to bring those to light. To show others that we are not bound by our darkness, we can use it to raise the stepping stones to get us to where we want to be. We just need the courage, confidence, and self-love to work through it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Upon looking back, there are so many qualities and skills I have to develop depending on the season of my life. So first off, for you reading know that. Know that depending on where you are in your life is going to depend on the lessons, skills, and knowledge you will search for or acquire.

Now, having said that, 3 of the most important qualities/skills I have obtained is: courage, self-love, and self-compassion. This goes back to the first question asked. It is 10 times hard to grow, to learn, and to see where we can go if we don’t first start with obtaining these 3 qualities. And that takes time, it takes grace, and it takes forgiveness. Forgiveness for yourself and possibly for others around you, who may have hurt you.

Now, for areas of knowledge, again this will depend on the season of life that you are in but I highly suggest learning about co-dependency or hyper independence (depending on you), learn more about neurolinguist programming, (this was a game changer) and then lean into something that you feel like speaks directly to you. It could be limiting beliefs, it could be learning how to say no, how to set boundaries. There are so many but depending on your season is going to depend on what you want to learn and what is going to fully resonate with you.

I still read and learn about all kinds of tools and knowledge about how the brain works, to this day. Because to me, learning and acquiring skills or new knowledge is never ending. That is what I enjoy about this journey so much. Be sure you are enjoying the learning journey as well and not so focused on the destination.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes! I think that partnering and collaborating with one another helps bring even more information to the audience that you serve.

I am looking to connect with high schools, colleges, college professors, teachers/faculty/staff, government officials (especially in the police sector) to share and educate around domestic violence, the silent scars that come with these, what emotional abuse can do to someone, and to be able to allow a safe space for open communication and Q&A for those that truly want to learn and understand from a real person’s lived experience to see how they can shift their own perspective and or the way they handle or deal with situations in the future.

I am also looking to partner or collaborate with those in the event space who are specifically looking for Motivational Speakers or MCs (Master of Ceremonies) to provide support, connection, assistance, and even connections with the right people they might be looking for.

If anyone is interested in connecting with me and having a conversation about how we may be able to help one another please visit my website: www.The-Lotus-Effect.com and fill out the contact page form, which will go directly to my inbox so either I or my assistant can set up a meeting with you.
