We recently connected with Lorenzo Shelton and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorenzo , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from my grandparents, who raised me and instilled strong values in me from an early age. My grandmother, in particular, has been a huge inspiration. She owned her own boutique and set a solid foundation for me, showing me firsthand how to work hard and run a business. Watching her dedication and resilience taught me so much about perseverance, self-discipline, and passion—qualities I strive to bring into my own work every day.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m an up-and-coming content creator, and I truly love what I do. My passion is capturing moments through my camera and sharing pieces of my life with my viewers. What excites me most about this work is the chance to connect with people on a real level—showing them the genuine highs and lows of my experiences. Each video or photo is a glimpse into my journey, allowing me to be open and transparent with my audience. I aim to create content that’s both relatable and inspiring, and I hope people find a sense of connection and joy in what I share.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are patience, determination, and understanding. Patience has helped me navigate the ups and downs of growing a brand and building a presence, knowing that success doesn’t come overnight. Determination keeps me focused and pushing forward, even when things get tough. Understanding—of both myself and others—has allowed me to stay grounded and connect with my audience in a real, meaningful way.

My best advice for anyone just starting out is to have a plan. Take the time to map out your dreams and make a commitment to devote time to them. It might not feel easy in the beginning, but as you grow and learn, it does get easier. Embrace the journey, and remember that every challenge brings you one step closer to your goals.
