We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chris A.k.a. Fluidgirl Young-Ginzburg. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chris a.k.a. Fluidgirl below.
Hi Chris a.k.a. Fluidgirl, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose by following my inspiration, impulses, passion, and excitement. My journey began with a love for dance—a joy that’s been with me since childhood. When I returned to California, I felt a deep calling to start meditating, which ultimately guided me to my spiritual path.
For nearly 20 years, I have embraced the roles of dancer/performer and energy healer/teacher. These two passions have opened doors to profound self-healing, joyful expression, and the chance to share that joy with others. They’ve continually pushed me beyond my own limits, showing me what’s possible and inviting me to grow even further.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My work centers on guiding others in discovering and embracing their intuitive abilities, deepening their connection to their own voice, and healing through the power of sound. With nearly two decades of experience in both performance and energy healing, I blend voice activation, intuitive coaching, and movement to create transformative experiences that encourage self-expression, self-healing, and personal empowerment.
Right now, I’m especially passionate about expanding my reach, bringing more people into my membership, sound & voice classes, and events, and sharing my teachings with larger audiences. My vision is to offer my Sound and Voice Activation classes at festivals, on stage, and through public speaking engagements that reach and inspire bigger crowds. Alongside this, I’m thrilled to continue exploring performance, integrating dance and singing as ways to help others experience the joy and power of creative expression.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Determination and Passion
My determination and passion have been the core drivers of my work as both a performer and a spiritual healer. For me, passion is a force that not only fuels my creativity but also supports my deeper purpose in life. My dedication to dance and performance brings joy and inspiration to others, and my commitment to spiritual healing helps me transform past pain in my lineage, creating a new future for myself and those who come after me. For anyone early in their journey, I would encourage them to let their passion guide them. Embracing what excites you most can open doors you never anticipated and keep you moving forward even through challenges.
2. Meditation and Self-Reflection
Meditation and self-reflection are the practices that keep me grounded, sane, and clear. By taking the time to learn about myself, I not only stay in balance, but I also give my creativity room to flourish. This process has enabled me to work through personal challenges and transform them into inspiration for my performances and teachings. I suggest others incorporate even a small daily meditation practice or time for reflection; it helps to reveal personal insights that can drive creative breakthroughs, emotional healing, and a stronger sense of purpose. For me, these practices make it possible to show up fully for my clients, family, and, ultimately, myself.
3. Trusting the Process and Embracing Balance
Trusting the journey has been both a challenge and a profound lesson. For years, I struggled with feeling “split” between my two passions: dance and spiritual work. Over time, I’ve learned to trust that each has its season, knowing that both are valuable and impactful, even if I’m more focused on one at certain times. Through this journey, I’ve also found ways to blend them, like creating spiritually inspired performances, which has helped bring a sense of balance and healing to the feeling of being divided. I would advise those starting out to honor the ebb and flow of creativity and to trust in their unique path, even if it feels unconventional.
Creative obstacles and self-doubt are common experiences, but I’ve discovered that spiritual practices can help dissolve these self-imposed barriers and reignite inspiration. For anyone on a similar journey, trust that the inner work you’re doing—whether through meditation, self-exploration, or creative expression—will naturally enhance your gifts and open up new possibilities. Remember, there truly is a “season” for everything. Embrace the times when you feel less creatively inspired, as they often signal that something new is trying to emerge within you. Life has its ebb and flow, and each phase is valuable.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
The greatest challenge I’m facing right now is balancing the demands of work, creative expression, and being a parent to a young child, especially as I navigate this in my late 40s. My energy isn’t quite what it once was, so I find myself navigating a new relationship with time—learning how to prioritize being present for my family while continuing to show up fully for my clients and the growth of my business.
To manage this, I’m focusing on intentional time management and self-care. I prioritize grounding practices, like meditation, exercise and dance, which help me recharge and stay centered. I’m also learning to flow with the energy of each day rather than expecting every day to look the same. For example, some days might be more family-focused, while others are dedicated to creative or professional pursuits. By embracing this flexibility and leaning into each role when I’m at my best, I’m finding ways to honor both my family and my purpose. It’s a work in progress, but I’ve come to see it as an evolving journey that teaches me patience, presence, and the importance of balance.
