Meet Xiang Ma

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Xiang Ma. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Xiang below.

Hi Xiang, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re very focused on here – improving our ability to make decisions. Everyday, we’re faced with decisions that can impact the future of our careers, businesses, relationships and more and so one of the most impactful areas for personal development, in our view, is decision-making. Can you talk to us about how you developed or improved your decision-making skills?

Usually, when I’m cultivating my decision – making skills, I often follow a formula which has three principles. The first principle is that when I make a decision on something, I need to know whether this thing can bring my advantages and strengths into play. The second principle is whether it conforms to the characteristics of Internet traffic. That is to say, whether what I’m doing can enable me to accumulate the secrets and skills for Internet traffic. The third thing is whether it complies with the trend of this era and whether it has prospects in the future. When I decide to do something, every time I apply these three formulas, there will be a clear answer. If it meets all of them or two of them, I will decide to do it. If it meets none of them, I will decide not to do it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

During the process of starting my business, I have set four values for my company. These four values are as follows. First, speed is of the utmost importance. In whatever we do, the first requirement is to be very fast, including the execution ability of the employees. We need to complete tasks quickly from top to bottom. Second, it’s innovation. Whether it’s our employees, middle – and high – level managers, or the boss, we must bring very new blood and vitality to the company. So we are constantly innovating, constantly overthrowing the old things in the past, and constantly creating new things. The third value is result – orientation. That is to say, we don’t focus on the processes, and we don’t discuss reasons. First of all, we need to achieve the result. Fourth, I think it’s related to the brand. Our value is called praise and speaking out. That is to say, if you want to promote the brand, you have to keep speaking out, on the Internet, on social media, and on any platform that may reach the public domain. You have to constantly show yourself. Of course, this is also a reason why I end this interview. It also follows the value of constantly showing ourselves and the company’s brand.
