Meet Ziv Sade

We were lucky to catch up with Ziv Sade recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ziv, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my sense of propose in my early 20’s after being an amateur photographer for a couple of years,
I was a closeted kid, very shy and insecure, photography helped my cope with that reality, photography gave me a sense of propose and existence, it gave me validation, it gave me the sense of self.
Photography helped me protect myself and learn about how to communicate with people, photography helped me channel my curiosity and fascination with the world, so when I started my professional career, I wanted to implement these elements into my work and give others that sense of wonder, visibility and curiosity, I wanted to make photos that will inspire others to exist, and to find people that inspire me to continue and have that initial sense of propose.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

As I continue my commercial work aside from my personal work, I am starting to work on my first book that potentially will be called “Photography saved my life”, I want this book to continue my legacy of inspiring others to explore, to wake up and look around, find wonder in the world, find vulnerability in people. because that is how we make connections with each other, that is how we will truly see each other and bridge these social gaps that are formed in out chaotic modern world.
recently I have shot big ad campaigns for “Grüns”, “Takayas Costume jewelry”, “In case”, Live conscious” and I have additional big confidential commercial projects in the early pre production process the I am extremely excited about.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think that you need a lot of resilience and consistency, You need a strong sense of propose to keep you motivated, Money or fame will not get you to where you need to go, it will not fulfil you and you would probably end up feeling unfulfilled and empty.

Find what you are passionate about, tell a story that fascinates you and the rest will follow, you would be more excited to promote yourself with projects that you are invested in rather then projects that bore you, people feel when you are dishonest and forced.

I think that what keeps me going, even after almost 20 years, making images that inspire me. making images that fascinates me, keeping my curiosity alive and my sense of wonder alive is super important.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I have a ongoing passion project that is called “The Coast Is Queer”, where I find interesting & brave individuals from the queer community and telling their story, how they overcome adversity and became who they are today,
its almost like the ugly duckling, finding what is your beauty and the most you you can be.
Obviously this is a never ending journey, but I am looking for individuals who can inspire others, to feel better about themselves, to grow and become who they want to be, with no shame and no fear.
