Hi Leah , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my mom, who has always worked multiple jobs and put her heart into everything she does. Growing up, I watched her juggle responsibilities with grace and determination, and it taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. Her relentless commitment to providing for our family instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility and a drive to excel. Because of her example, I strive to give my best in every endeavor, motivated by the dedication I’ve seen in her.

I’m excited to share a bit about my journey and what I’m focused on professionally! Right now, I’m diving into managing teams for my cleaning business, that I co-own with my husband, Wayne Whiteside III, as well as running an apothecary with Brittney Gutierrez, where we create natural remedies. It’s been such a fulfilling path for me! I love that I get to help keep homes clean and provide people with natural solutions for their health and wellness. The most special part of my work is seeing the positive impact we make on our clients’ lives and well-being.
I’m all about creating a cleansing environment through both cleaning and natural remedies. It’s important to me that my work resonates with others and brings something meaningful to their lives.
On the horizon, I have some exciting things coming up! I’m always working on improving both businesses, learning new tips and tricks, and marketing details. I can’t wait to share it all with everyone! I truly appreciate the support and love from my community, and I’m looking forward to what’s next!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, creativity, and strong communication skills.
Resilience has really helped me navigate the ups and downs of running a business. There will always be challenges, but staying determined and learning from setbacks is crucial. For anyone early in their journey, I’d advise embracing failures as opportunities to grow. Don’t be afraid to pick yourself up and keep going.
Creativity has been essential, especially in our apothecary business. It allows me to think outside the box and bounce ideas off one another with new and unique natural remedies that resonate with people. I suggest nurturing your creativity by exploring new ideas, experimenting, and surrounding yourself with inspiring people who can spark your imagination.
Lastly, strong communication skills have been vital in building relationships with my team and clients. Being able to convey ideas clearly and listen to others establishes collaboration and trust. For those starting out, practice active listening and seek feedback. Engaging with your community will help you learn and grow faster. Word of mouth works wonders!

One book that has really impacted my development is “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. It taught me the importance of living in the present moment, which helps reduce stress and allows me to fully experience life.
Another key takeaway is the idea of observing my thoughts without judgment. This has helped me separate myself from negative self-talk and maintain a more positive mindset.
Lastly, the book emphasizes acceptance. Embracing the present, no matter how tough, has helped me tackle challenges with calmness and clarity. Overall, The Power of Now has been a guiding force in my journey, helping me find balance and purpose in my life and work.
