Meet Brian (bp) Pilling

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brian (bp) Pilling a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Brian (BP) , we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity may have been sparked in childhood through experiences or values that shaped my perspective on helping others. I’ve seen the impact of kindness in my community or learned from family members who led by example. Growing up, might have felt like a natural drive to support those around me, whether through small gestures or offering a helping hand when it mattered.

As I became the person I am today, that generosity likely became an even deeper part of me, woven into how I approach relationships and challenges. It’s a part of my character that not only defines my interactions but also shapes my sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At RedLight Studio ATL, we’re all about capturing and creating. We specialize in videography, photography, and film production, but we don’t stop there. Our mission is to bring stories to life and help businesses stand out, whether through stunning visuals, engaging content, or strategic marketing. What I find most exciting is seeing an idea take shape and evolve, from concept to final cut—it’s truly rewarding to witness how impactful creative work can be.

We’re not just a studio; we’re a full-service creative partner for brands and businesses. We offer everything from Google SEO and social media marketing to influencer collaborations, so our clients not only get high-quality content but also reach the right audience.

Looking ahead, we’re focusing on new projects, including collaborations with influencers and a few exciting events here in Atlanta. We’re also gearing up for more social media campaigns, aiming to make a big impact with unique content and innovative ideas. For anyone interested in working together or learning more, we’d love to connect and explore how we can bring your vision to life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1.Resilience: This industry can be unpredictable, and resilience has been essential. There will be setbacks, tight deadlines, and creative blocks, but pushing through has been key to staying on track. For those just starting, I’d say embrace every challenge as a lesson. Know that it’s okay to make mistakes—they’re part of growth. Building resilience early will help you face the tougher days with confidence.

2.Creativity: Creativity is what fuels everything we do at RedLight Studio ATL, and it’s what sets each project apart. Early on, I learned that creativity needs to be constantly nurtured. My advice here: stay curious and open-minded. Experiment, learn from others, and push the boundaries of what you think is possible.

3.Networking and Connection: Building strong relationships has opened countless doors. Networking isn’t just about making contacts; it’s about genuinely connecting and learning from others. For those starting out, invest time in meeting people, attending industry events, and even reaching out on social media. Every connection is an opportunity to learn, grow, and collaborate.

These qualities have guided my journey, and by focusing on these areas, you’ll set yourself up for long-term success in whatever you pursue.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?

One book that’s been instrumental in my growth is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. It’s packed with insights that apply to both personal and professional life, but a few key takeaways have really stuck with me.
1. The Power of a Clear Vision: Hill emphasizes the importance of defining a specific goal. This idea reinforced for me that having a clear vision isn’t just about knowing where you want to go; it’s about staying focused even when challenges arise. This clarity has helped guide my decisions and keeps me on track, especially when things get tough.
2. Persistence and the “Three Feet from Gold” Principle: Hill shares the story of a miner who quit digging just three feet away from a massive gold vein. The lesson here is that success often lies just beyond our toughest challenges. This idea has motivated me to keep pushing forward, even when I’m tempted to give up.
3. The Power of Mastermind Alliances: Hill talks about surrounding yourself with like-minded people who share your vision and drive. This was a game-changer for me, as it underscored the importance of building a strong network. Working with people who challenge and inspire you helps expand your thinking and makes you better.

These insights have had a huge impact on how I approach challenges, set goals, and surround myself with supportive people. The book is a reminder that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about mindset, resilience, and being intentional with who you are and who you surround yourself with.
