Meet Nathalie Mukendi

We recently connected with Nathalie Mukendi and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nathalie, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Funny enough, when I was younger, I used to have very low self-esteem and no confidence at all. That was due to kids at school looking down on me and saying very mean things to me. It wasn’t until I gave my life to Christ that I became to build my self-esteem and confidence because I knew who I was in Him.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
‘I’m a wife, a mother, an Accountant by day and a Fashion, Faith Blogger on my spare time. What started as a hobby to escape my 9-5 routine has become almost a full-time job that I love so much.

My Brand “The Coquette Diaries” is about Faith, Affordable Workwear and Everyday Style,
I love to encourage my audience to seek God and to put Him first in everything they do while showcasing my daily looks. At times, my daughter Zoyah will make an appearance to showcase her toddler fashion or a “mommy and me” outfits.

I’m also a big foodie who loves to cook, create new recipes and discover new cuisines. Through my passion of food, I created a second page on Instagram called “Dine in Africa with Nathalie” where I mainly showcase African food/cuisines,

At times, people often ask me if I have to choose between Fashion and Food, which one will it be? The truth is that I wouldn’t be able to choose, because I love them both. They are both my passions and gifts that God gave me, so I have to continue to craft them to the best of my ability.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Passion, Patience and Positivity,

Passion: You have to have passion for what you are showcasing. Once your find your niche and when your work reflects your passion, your audience/readers will come back for more.

Patience: You need to be Patience. Think of your page/blog as a startup. It takes time to build a startup to make it successful. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Positivity: A blogger/Influencer must accept both positive and negative comments. If you ever get negative comments, use the negative to do some research to be make sure you don’t repeat the same mistakes but rather be better at your craft.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Feeling overwhelmed at times means that we are doing more than we are supposed to.

When I feel overwhelmed, I make sure to take a break from Social Media and blogging,
It is very important to take breaks to let your mind rest and to reset your creativity, ”
