Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jamecia with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from my dad. He’s been a truck driver for almost 30 years! He is one of the hardest working people I know and admire. My dad and many others in my life have sacrificed comfort to be a true providers for our families. With this being said, I couldn’t imagine myself settling and not putting 1000% in everything I do. Thank you dad!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Growing up singing in the church choir as well as the middle school choir played an important role in giving me the courage and confidence to sing out loud while also helping me grow closer with my gift. With resilience, I was able to adapt well to many challenges and set backs that came my way and bounce back even stronger. Another quality that was the most impactful on my journey was strengthening my mindset everyday. To be able to change my beliefs and how I interpret the world around me helped shape my thoughts, my feelings, and my emotions. “Think positive-feel positive” is the word power I speak over myself everyday. Some advice I would give to folks who are early in their journey would be that your dream will make room for you, your words are power so speak positive-feel positive- receive positive, and lastly whatever you decide to do, do it with all of your might!
What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
From my perspective, it’s impractical to go all in on our strengths and receive instant success. We have to learn what it is that we are doing before reaching success. With learning comes failures, with failures come knowledge, and with knowledge comes success. For instance, with me pursuing my music career, I’m learning how to navigate this industry as an independent artist. Everyday I’m seeking out a new piece of knowledge that can help me get closer to reaching my goal, help improve areas in my artistry that can be strengthened, and also prevent me from making the same mistakes.
