Meet Mitzy Aguilar

Mitzy, so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever head any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?

Thank you for this opportunity, I’m so excited to be part of Bold Journey.

I definitely experience creative blocks, For myself, I get away, go on a mini road trip or long car ride to clear my mind. I keep a notebook for writing, no social media, play music and let emotions take over.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Born and raised in San Diego, I am proud to say that I am First Generation. Little did I know I would be where I am at now. It’s hard at times, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve become a better person and professional from the lessons I’ve learned.

As a cosmetologist, I am pretty well-rounded personal care and customized services including hair color, haircuts, extensions and essential skin care. I also educate on modern and trendy styles, including vivid colors. I think that’s the fun and creative aspect of it all.

I stay true to my essence and personal core values. I implement that with a relaxing, self-care , and upscale experience.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Time management, self-discipline and kindness are top qualities within myself that have been influential in my journey.

My advice for someone early into their journey is to: Remind yourself why you started.
