Meet Allanah Dobson

We were lucky to catch up with Allanah Dobson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Allanah, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I developed my confidence and self-esteem by believing in myself no matter who or what I was surrounded by.

I learned at an early age that people are comfortable just existing and I wasn’t. I wanted more out of life and I worked hard to get it.

I believed in myself because I knew how hard I was willing to work and tapped into my talents.

Lastly, I never tried to be anyone other than myself and I was comfortable in my skin. These two qualities are the ultimate recipe for confidence and self esteem.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m an author of 6 books on Amazon; currently working on #7.

I feel writing is exciting because it’s self-expression. I am a great communicator and writing is a form of communication.

I am able to discuss a variety of topics with my humor and wit. I find that fun and a form of healing in a way..

My 7th book will discuss dating with humor and personal experience.

I am also exploring the idea of a children’s book series about self-esteem with a good friend of mine who is a speech pathologist.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Discipline, belief in self and resilience were most impactful on this journey as an author..

My advice is to work hard and not get bogged down in the details. Trust your abilities and just WORK. The results are coming.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

I meditate and practice self-care when I feel
overwhelmed. This is a way to re-center myself.

I meditate daily. I always wanted to be consistent and intentional. I have meditated daily for the past 6 months and it has been life-changing.

I have a friend who is a massage therapist and I book an appointment with her when I feel myself becoming stressed or overwhelmed. I will get a 75 minute full body massage or a foot detox.
