Meet Mark Facet

We were lucky to catch up with Mark Facet recently and have shared our conversation below.

Mark, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

This whole mark character was built by constantly performing infront of new people —the confidence, however, is built by the people that don’t like me in particular. At first, you see a frown in the audience and think “What am I doing wrong ??” —“Am I annoying??” Etc… but after months on the job and thousands of both good and bad opinions you realize just how irrelevant and temporary these things are.

After I learned this lesson, and stopped placing my self worth in other people, I could finally build confidence and self esteem. I worry less and less about what people think of me —that allows me to be my best and true self —and that gives me more confidence. It’s a rad self propagating cycle.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’ll keep this brief since I’ve already discussed my WHOLE story in another article LOL. Appreciate you guys.

Heyy my name’s Mark Facet and that’s not even my real name. It’s a fearless character I’ve built that left the Healthcare system and is now thriving as an entertainer / model. He’s traveled the country performing at themed events —acting, singing, dancing & hosting fandom experiences in collaboration with world renowned venues and Industry Icons — i.e. Broadway Actors, Professional Dancers, Massive Influencers and even Travis Clark from We The Kings.

Now, I’m building my own brand of Events and Fandom Experiences to bring San Antonio communities together with a team of my mentors. Our latest launch consists of Rick and Morty Themed Rave February 1st —hope to see you there *winks*

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Dang that’s hard —here are 3 that come to mind right now. Individuality, Flexibity & Shamelessness. These have all helped me climb up the ladder as an entertainer.

First and foremost , you gotta be able to do it alone. With NO ONE on you’re side. There are too many people in this industry willing to undercut you, and far MORE that are unreliable in the workspace. I try my very best not to depend on people —and I think that’s how you find the people you CAN depend on.

Flexibility / Improvisation — Being creative used to be a challenge for me in a group because I always had a strong vision I wanted to stick to. that’s damn near impossible with with a million different people, circumstances and variables involved with huge productions. If you do not roll with the punches, and LET GO of how you think the night should unravel —the night will infact, unravel. Organize a few things, have a ton of backup plans and IMPROVISE with what you have. That will always give you the best result.

Lastly, Shamelessness. Can you truly get up onstage and act like a jackass? Let go of embarrassment? Actually NOT CARE. That’s what brings out the best in an entertainer in my experience.

How to improve —it’s not for everyone, but consistency and practice will build these traits in born performers. Keep getting onstage and keep raising the bar.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

YES OFCOURSE. I want to work with venues, influencers and communities. My whole goal is to bring people together that love a specific thing and give the most a memorable party experience. For example, If you have an active community that loves Disney —WE THROW A DISNEY NIGHT! It’s got everything your audience would appreciate and thank you for.

For venues, let us bring the party to you — with any themed event we can entertain your regulars and bring in a ton of new patrons that will associate your brand with the a HELLA good time.
