We were lucky to catch up with Scooba Steve Nc recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Scooba Steve , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get it from myself. No one will make a plan or invest money into what i am doing. People like to say “i work hard” but that is at a 9 to 5 job. They don’t want to work hard at a hobby or career. People showing up late to meet ups and not taking recording seriously. I taught myself if i want to make money and gain respect i have to work hard and invest in my own business. Someone Notable I learned from is Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am an recording artist from north carolina. I started recording professionally 2022. The reason i am recording hip hop is because i started off in the battle rap area in 2005. A long time ago i was already writing rhymes down and freestyling in cyphers in high school. Once i started recording at my cousin house 2016 i knew i could do it. people i never met before through the internet leaving comments on soundcloud. Also my friends and ex gf’s knew i can rap cause they kept telling me i should keep recording. The reason i like recording is because when i have a idea i don’t have to write the verse or hook yet. I can come up with a topic based off my life or something as niche as anime and create a song title. I can buy a beat and then write to it and pay for a studio session bringing it to life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The most important thing i learned the hard way is living with other people. It will leave you carless,homeless and broke.
Never trust anyone word just actions. Especially if it requires you to wait over 3 months for it. My advice is just go work and invest in your career. Other People are not Reliable LOL

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

The main one is finding stable home or city to live in. Cost of Living is outrageous.
