Meet Jennifer Diguer

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jennifer Diguer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

Having resilience is not something you are born with. It is the strength and determination that one embraces when they let go of limiting beliefs and step into the light approaching life by what lights them up.

Resiliency comes from being able to face any situation you find yourself in and knowing that you will succeed in whatever way is ultimately best for you. It is knowing that your experiences are right for you and you have the confidence within yourself that you can handle whatever comes your way. I was able to build up resiliency by being able to let go of control of situations and just allow what ever outcome comes to happen. By really allowing myself to embrace the ups and downs in life in a state of peace.

One can strengthen their resiliency in life by managing stress, getting in touch with their nervous system, letting go of feelings of perfectionism and really filling yourself with self compassion, acceptance and love. Removing the need to judge yourself and the need to compete and compare with others, removes stress from your mind. It is the feeling of knowing you are perfectly who you are suppose to be and you are deserving and worthy of abundance no matter the outcome.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am an intuitive energy practitioner. I am a Reiki Master and teacher, a Holy Light Intuitive Energy Practitioner and an Oracle/Tarot card reader. I enjoy working with people, in a variety of ways, who are looking to release, heal and reconnect with their soul. I like to approach the healing journey by looking at it from new perspectives to really find those limiting beliefs to uproot and replace permanently. Healing is the process of really reconnecting the body, mind and soul.

Healing can happen in many different ways. Holy Light and Reiki clear and remove stuck energies within the body and aura enabling one to release energy, unwanted repeating patterns and feel balanced.

Akashic records can be used to highlight and show where patterns, lessons and limiting beliefs are on repeat in a person’s life. This awareness can make understanding and release of these patterns easier. Once one can recognize the pattern it is easier to flip it around and replace it with a more abundant beliefs.

Oracle and Tarot cards are great tools for receiving messages and guidance from your guides, angels, ancestors and your higher self. Card readings can help to highlight what is currently happening in ones life and provide hope for the future path.

I really enjoy holding space for people as they are able to let go of all that is holding them back and to step into their brightest path ever.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

When you are starting your journey, I would say the first thing to really to embrace is self-acceptance and self-love. Really start to look for all the ways in which you can change the way you really look and feel about who you are. Most of us are quick to feel guilt and anxiety about who we are and what we are doing. For me it was really that awareness of the stories I was telling myself about myself within my own head. Once you become aware of those stories you can really start to let them go and open yourself up to new stories and a brighter path forward.

Another great skill to embrace early on is flexibility. When you are opening yourself up to changes and start seeing everything in a new light it is best to try to go with the flow as much as possible. It is common to attempt to control life and over analyze everything that comes up for you but it is easier to allow everything that comes up to flow as this is the state where limiting patterns can be released. Embracing flexibility will help with resiliency as you will know that you will be ok as you start to remove all of your outdated subconscious patterns.

Patience is necessary to really slow your mind down and start to hear the messages that your trapped emotions and body are trying to tell you. At first, they are more difficult to hear and understand but the quieter you can become the louder they speak. You can start to quiet your mind by meditation and going inward. When I first started mediating I found it really hard – I still struggle with sitting still. If sitting still provides a challenge you can always journal your feelings on paper, start walking meditations or really sit quietly and focus on your breathe.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

Life runs at a very fast pace and it is very easy to feel overwhelmed and not able to find that quietness within. When I notice that I am feeling more run down or impatient with everything and everyone, including myself, I know that it is really a sign that I am feeling overwhelmed and that it is time for me to find ways to slow down. It is easy when we do feel overwhelmed to feel like we need to try harder and move faster but really when these feelings appear it is our body communicating with us that it is time to really take a break.

When I start to feel overwhelmed I start journaling everything that I am feeling and where those feelings are coming from. I take a walk outside to quiet my mind and really bring myself back into the present moment so I can connect with myself again, letting those feelings of panic and overwhelm go. I also try to show myself compassion and self love in whatever way I feel drawn to, even if it is simply sitting with a favorite cup of tea and thinking of all of the things your are grateful for in your life. At these times I find it helpful to really remember all of the things you have in your life to celebrate and really feel into that – even if you are simply celebrating that you recognized the feelings of overwhelm and want to switch to peace. These strategies are what I use when I start to feel those feelings and they help me to get back on track with a more peaceful quiet mind. If at times an overwhelm feeling creeps in and yet you feel that you simply do not have time to slow down as there is much needing to be completed, remind yourself that everything goes more smoothly with a peaceful mind approach. When you start to notice overwhelm yet continue to push through without slowing down is when we start to weaken our immune system and end up more likely to feel sick and having to slow down.

These feelings are best shifted with awareness and a change of pace. Bringing in anything that really makes you happy, feeling self love and a genuine self acceptance within whatever the situation maybe.
