We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nathanael Nunemaker. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nathanael below.
Nathanael , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Honestly, I still struggle with imposter syndrome from time to time, but I have made significant progress. When I was deeply affected by imposter syndrome, I didn’t let it hold me back from moving forward. While I didn’t completely ignore it, I also didn’t let it stop me.
Over time, as I made progress little by little, I began to build confidence in my abilities and skills. If I ever find myself questioning whether I’m cut out to run a business, I reflect on my past wins, which remind me that I am capable.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m the founder of Farmer Nate’s Sauce, a Covington, Kentucky-based company crafting bold hot sauces, seasonings, and condiments. At Farmer Nate’s, our mission is to bring flavor and creativity to every meal, sparking conversation and connection around the dinner table.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being patient and intentionally building the brand on a solid foundation has been key. As a CPG brand, we chose not to rush into as many brick-and-mortar stores as possible. Instead, we focus on building brick by brick—one new customer at a time.
Consistency is crucial. We all have bad days, even bad weeks, but the ability to start fresh and do it all over again, every single day, is an invaluable skill.
Having a strong team around you is essential. You won’t excel at everything, so it’s important to find people who can step in and fill the gaps where you may fall short.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The tipping point by Malcom Gladwell
the book explores how small actions can trigger significant changes, much like how a single moment can tip a system into transformation. Gladwell uses the metaphor of epidemics to explain how ideas, trends, and behaviors spread, arguing that three key factors influence these tipping points.
I have revisited this book many of times and have applied many things from it to my brand
