Meet Jordan Symone

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jordan Symone a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from my mom, who is my greatest inspiration and supporter. She immigrated here from Panama as a young girl and has been hustling ever since, driven by a deep commitment to provide her family with the best life possible. I’ve watched her work tirelessly, launching one business after another, and even when things didn’t go as planned, she didn’t let setbacks keep her down. Her creativity and tenacity are unmatched; she’s always ready to jump into her next idea, motivated by her love for her family, especially her children.

At over 60, she’s still creating, building, and working toward her dream life. She’s a true entrepreneur and a generous spirit, always connecting people and opening her home, which is why she has so many cherished relationships in Houston. No matter how tough things get or how many challenges she faces, she doesn’t lose her drive or her vision. Watching her pursue her dreams and bounce back from setbacks has taught me the power of perseverance, generosity, and the courage to keep going, no matter what.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My background in digital marketing and creative storytelling has allowed me to help startups and corporations craft compelling content and lead impactful campaigns. After working in the marketing department of a natural hair startup in Philadelphia, I returned to Houston to launch The Best Creative Agency, where I’ve collaborated with clients in the haircare, tech, and healthcare sectors—many of them Black- or woman-owned. My focus has been on elevating their social media presence, leading campaigns, and connecting them with influencers.

During the pandemic, I started creating natural hair content with a series called Wash N Stay at Home. While I paused personal content to focus on clients, this year, I’ve reignited my own platform with Hot Girl to Holy Girl, a series that began as “Get Ready With Me for Church” videos. It’s evolved into a space where I share how faith has empowered me to build better habits and explore new hobbies like juicing, golfing, and modeling. My journey has also rekindled my passion for natural hair content, and I aim to inspire women to embrace their best selves through faith.

Though my audience is still growing, I’ve already secured a few successful collaborations. I’m excited to continue building as a faith-based lifestyle creator and using my platform to uplift and inspire others!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I’d say the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are storytelling, adaptability, and creative inspiration. First, being a strong storyteller has given me an edge over the average marketer, which I credit to my background in journalism. This skill allows me to craft visually appealing, compelling narratives across any topic, making my work memorable and engaging. Second, my agility and resourcefulness were shaped by working in startups, where I learned to make a $5 budget look like a $500,000 budget through creativity and innovation. Finally, tapping into my natural creativity has been essential. My advice to those starting out is to actively cultivate inspiration by following people who uplift you, immersing yourself in music, and consuming content that excites your imagination. I’m very selective about the content I take in because I know how it influences my work and mindset.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

YES YES YES ! I’m always open to collaborating with business owners who need support with their digital marketing efforts, whether it’s content creation, digital marketing strategy, or influencer management. I’m also building my model portfolio and would love the chance to connect with photographers local to Houston. And as a lifestyle influencer, I’m excited to partner with brands that align with my niche, whether through collaborations or ambassadorships. Let’s connect and create something amazing together!
