Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kayla Trujillo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kayla, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
My confidence and self esteem is something that ebbs and flows – like most entrepreneurs. Most of the time I feel very confident in myself and what I have to offer this industry. When I am having a less confident day, I reread reviews and testimonies from past clients to reassure myself I belong in this space and I am on the right path. Over time, my passion grows and so does my self-esteem.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think the key to success is extremely simple. The cocktail includes:
1. Passion in what you are doing OR the outcomes of the effort
2. Persistence to continue to work toward to goal
3. Being willing to arrive early, stay late, and take on the work that others don’t want to.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
I grew up playing competitive soccer and my parents were extremely invested in my success. The thing was, is they needed a way to get me equally as invested in my success outside having fun. They started by explaining the importance of *wanting* to be the best, the feeling of being a winner. Then they would have me stay late after every practice and run an additional 3 miles. At first I resented them – all my friends got to jump in their cars and go home – I had to stay and keep working. I then realized it was the extra work I was putting in that slowly started to separate myself from my teammates and competitors. I carry the lessons I learned on those dark runs with me today, “I can do hard things” and my willingness to put in the extra effort is what gets me ahead in life.
