Meet Courtney Gibson Culotta

We were lucky to catch up with Courtney Gibson Culotta recently and have shared our conversation below.

Courtney, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

I have always been an eternal optimist. I think it is important to stay positive in all situations, because in even the darkest situations, a little positivity can be a light. While it isn’t always easy in practice, I believe a splash of positivity can change any outlook.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I own Le Petite Fete a Pop Culture Obsessed Event Company. Our flagship event is the Eras Party: A Taylor Swift themed dance party! in 2019 I was in Chicago and there was a bar that played only Britney Spears all night! I thought this is so fun, I would love to go to something similar in my hometown. After covid when you could finally go out again, I thought why not try this here. The first one I did was Taylor Swift, and it was so popular! It sold out in only weeks and had an insane waiting list. It went viral and the rest is history! Since, I have done Britney Spears, Boy Bands, Y2K: Disney Channel and 2000’s hits, Taylor and Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor and Harry Styles, Barbie parties around the release of the movie, Mamma Mia brunches, TAYGATES pre parties before the Taylor Swift concerts, and our 2 newest Parties, The Pink Pony Party: A Chappell Roan And Friends Dance night and The Drop Party: A fantasy night inspired by the world of Sarah J. Maas! The most exciting and special thing about every event we do is the community that comes together for these events. Even if it is a small crowd their passion is so incredible!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

3 Qualities: Tenacity, Trust, and Independence. Being an entrepreneur is so difficult. You can never give up on your vision or your dream. When you are at your highest, people will do anything to support you, but pay attention to how people act when things are not going the way they should. That is what is truly telling. Independence is so important because when you are at one of those inevitable lows in business, you will be the only one with the love and passion to still get the job done. You cannot always depend on other, so trust those around you who show up and trust in yourself to get it done. Have one or 2 trusted people in your circle who can help you, no one does everything alone.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When you feel overwhelmed, which is inevitable, as an entrepreneur, it is so hard not to. I think it is important to take one task at a time. Look at what the problem that you feel overwhelmed with is, take it apart piece by piece and then tackle on thing at a time. It is also important to feel like you have a few trusted people you can rely on.
