Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Betty Oladimeji. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Betty, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome has been a journey of learning to trust my vision. In the beginning, I struggled with doubts about my ability to lead and bring my creative ideas to life. I often questioned if I was truly adding value, especially since I didn’t design or create the jewelry myself. But as I focused on the value I bring through curation, I realized that every piece I chose, and every collection we released, was helping people express their style and find meaningful connections through jewelry.
One of the biggest turning points was connecting with other founders and creatives. Their stories reminded me that everyone has moments of self-doubt and that it doesn’t make me any less capable. I learned to look at my business objectively, acknowledging not only my growth but also the positive feedback from our community.
Over time, I reframed imposter syndrome as a sign that I was stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself in new ways. Embracing this mindset shift made all the difference. Building Eleven 20Five has been about connecting the right pieces with the right people. When I see our customers’ reactions and hear their stories, I’m reminded of the impact I can have through my vision, even if I’m not the one at the workbench.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Betty, founder of Eleven20Five, a jewelry retail brand dedicated to curating unique and meaningful pieces that resonate with people’s individual styles. Eleven20Five started as a passion for finding jewelry that wasn’t just beautiful but also had the power to feel personal, like a piece of someone’s journey. We aim to create a connection between our customers and the jewelry they wear, providing collections where each piece has its own story.
What excites me most about Eleven20Five is the chance to help people express themselves and feel confident through the jewelry they choose. We put a lot of care into selecting items that our customers can feel good about, both in quality and in style. This approach goes beyond trends; it’s about offering pieces that feel timeless and authentic to the wearer.
Right now, we’re focusing on expanding our online presence to reach more people who resonate with our mission. I’m thrilled to share that we’re working on dropping a few new pieces with bold, contemporary designs that still maintain that sense of timelessness. We’re also happy to announce we would be expanding the vision with Shades by Eleven20Five, our new line of sunglasses.
What’s most exciting is how Shades by Eleven20Five complements our jewelry line, allowing our customers to express their personal style from head to toe.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most impactful qualities on my journey with Eleven20Five were resilience, a strong connection to our purpose, and understanding our customers’ needs. Resilience helped me push through setbacks, and a genuine purpose kept me focused on offering meaningful pieces. Understanding the market allowed me to stay connected to what customers wanted. My advice to those starting out: embrace challenges as learning moments, define and stay true to your purpose, and invest time in understanding both your audience and the industry to build a brand people connect with.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
I’m deeply grateful to God for His guidance and strength, which have been my foundation through every challenge. my powerhouse of friends and sisters have also been there every step of the way, offering support whenever and however they can. Their unwavering encouragement and belief in me have been invaluable in my success so far.
And someone I admire from afar is Emma Grede, she is such an inspiration and i try to learn alot from her.
