We were lucky to catch up with Madison Christgau recently and have shared our conversation below.
Madison , thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
Honestly, when it comes to haters, I just let them do their thing and I do mine. Everyone has their own opinion on things, some align with me and what I do and some don’t. It’s just the way it goes.
When it comes to nay sayers I try to be compassionate. Not everyone thinks certain things are possible, and sometimes we just need to show them the potential we all have when we dream big dreams.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I do a lot of things. I find it hard to pick just one profession. I’ve always looked up to Barbie, not for her looks or perfect figure, but because she was anything and everything. She was a doctor, a singer, an astronaut, a mermaid, you name it. She’s done it all!
Currently I’m a micro-influencer across social media as well as a model, life coach, and social media manager. I own a small batch skincare business called Flowherra, that’s my newest project. I recently created my first line of products; Our signature Best Bath Mix, and our Hair Skin & Nails all over body oil, soon to be available online.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I have been singing since I was nine years old, and one of my first career goals was to be a famous singer. I think that had a big impact on the career paths I have picked today. I think everyone should sing, at least a little bit. It’s a good skill to have, and it makes you feel good.
Another major thing in my life was education in psychology. Really understanding people and your surroundings on a psychological level is fundamental when choosing a career because it can apply in so many different ways. Think about how marketers use psychology to promote sales, or create ads that are compelling, or how social media companies then use psychology to analyze what ads to show to what people.
Third, I had a hard upbringing, but with that I learned a lot of important lessons about life that I’m grateful for. I learned to be compassionate, to speak up, to be humble, and to set boundaries.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always looking to collaborate! When it comes to partnerships I like to build relationships with people who care about others and the world around them. You can reach me through instagram @madisonchristgau or through my email, maddiegchrist@gmail.com can’t wait to connect!
