Meet Diana Maria Leaman

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diana Maria Leaman. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Diana Maria, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

As a young girl, I wished to blend into the background, but now I aspire to stand out. It took a shift in my perspective regarding who I am and who I want to become. Even today, I still grapple with understanding my purpose. However, I know I must shine as brightly as possible, illuminating the darkness around me and minimizing negativity. I built my self-confidence by overcoming my fear of advocating for my beliefs. I no longer worry excessively about others’ opinions or potential judgment, as long as I remain true to myself. My self-esteem blossomed from recognizing my self-worth, which I discovered in my late twenties.

Having faced a deep depression after losing both my parents and dealing with the post-traumatic stress from a tragic accident that left my brother paralyzed during my childhood, I struggled to cope with the stress and felt adrift without purpose. Once I managed to rise above the rubble, I realized it was my responsibility to create the happiness I sought and the joy that can only originate from within. Aware that our time on this earth is limited, I strive to make the most of it while I can.

In recent years, my self-esteem has significantly improved as I prioritize caring for my body, maintain positive thoughts, and consistently pursue growth and learning. I endeavor to treat my body as a temple, and in return, I feel good, strong, and creative. I take pride in how far I have come despite the challenges I’ve faced, and I aim to inspire others to discover their inner peace amidst their chaos and turbulence.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I was born in Austria and relocated to Pennsylvania at the age of eight. My mother, an oil painter, and my father, a graphic designer, served as a constant source of inspiration, as I admired their stunning artwork and creative expression. I discovered my passion for photography, focusing on capturing the breathtaking beauty that surrounds me. Through my work, I aim to inspire others to reconnect with nature and cultivate an appreciation for every fleeting moment. I recently launched my website, www.dianamarialeaman.com, and I plan to participate in several craft markets this upcoming spring and summer in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, showcasing the sunrises, sunsets, local flowers, insects, and landscapes of the area.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Reflecting on my professional journey, I realize that art should not merely be pursued for financial gain. Instead, it serves as a powerful form of expression that liberates what lies within us. Art can function as a therapeutic outlet and can be shared for others to benefit from. I also recognize that my progress would not have been possible without the unwavering support of my family and loved ones. For thirty years, I created art before considering sharing it publicly; the encouragement from those who knew me best instilled the confidence I needed to showcase my work. Throughout my journey, I have acquired various skills from different jobs, which have enabled me to create my own website and execute marketing strategies. Additionally, my passion for customer service has greatly aided my ability to make sales and communicate effectively with others. For those just starting out, I recommend seeking help. It can be intimidating to reach out, but you’ll be amazed at how many people are willing to assist when asked. Everyone possesses unique skills, connections, or resources that can be incredibly valuable. I have often been pleasantly surprised by how one piece of advice can lead to a cascade of new ideas and opportunities. Advocate for yourself and your needs, envision your desired outcome, and work diligently to bring it to life.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

This past year has been remarkably transformative. I began to take full responsibility for my actions instead of placing blame on others for my setbacks. Acknowledging that what I consume could be detrimental is a challenging realization. I had some deeply rooted habits that dated back to high school. Additionally, my diet required significant improvement. Recently, I’ve been dedicated to learning about the healing benefits of a nutrient-rich diet and what that truly entails. I am currently pursuing studies to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, with the aspiration of guiding others on their path to wellness.
