We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sara Im. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sara below.
Hi Sara, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from overcoming the hardest time in my life. It was the time when I persevered through adversity and trauma when I was taken into captivity during the Communist took over Cambodia in the 70’s.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Greetings!!! My name is Sara Im, an inspirational speaker and award-winning author of the book “How I Survived the Killing Fields”. I help people to become confident and resilient so that they can break free from limitations that restrict them from being at peace, positive, happy and whole, through my book, speaking engagement, podcast and coaching. I am excited about expanding our in-person retreat for women in the Tampa Bay area soon. It will be our third retreat and we know our participants will love and benefit from.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I think the most impactful in my journey were 1. Living a life with purpose that is bigger than myself. 2. Perseverance to pursue my purpose. 3. Having resilience to keep bouncing back and recover from adversities and hardships and keep moving forward,
My advice for folks who are early in their journey is to be clear on the purpose they are pursuing, set manageable goals to reach one step at the time. Persevere, allow yourself enough time and not giving up too soon. Also, keep building your confidence and resilience so that you will overcome any obstacle coming your way.
Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client for me is a corporate or association event organizer who look for a speaker who has knowledges and experiences to inspire and motivate their audience.
My ideal client for me is also someone who want to be the best they can be, they have a passionate purpose but they are trap in a circumstance that prevent them from pursuing that dream.
