Meet Markanthony “mac” Claiborne

We were lucky to catch up with Markanthony “mac” Claiborne recently and have shared our conversation below.

Markanthony “MAC”, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose in the midst of the most painful season of my life. I literally went from Pain to Purpose. Many times we regret those seasons of darkness and pain but honestly if we all did an audit on our life the majority of our growth came from what we learned in times of pain.

Now my purpose is to encourage others to live out their lives according to their own desires. Fear keeps many people shackled to jobs they hate in exchange for a false sense of security. I want people to see me as an example or a beacon of hope that you can’t lose if you bet on God and yourself. My memoir Ghetto Diamond lavishes my readers with several anecdotes of perseverance.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I own a multi-faceted media company named Mactastic Media, LLC. We publish books, create content and produce multiple podcasts on YouTube. – Cigar Chats w/Mac and The Purple Panties Podcast.

I personally have published 2 best selling books – Ghetto Diamond: A Memoir by MAC; Purple Panties (Erotic Poetry). I am a reality TV Star that appeared on all 10 episodes of Queen’s Court -Season 1. (NBC/Peacock)

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that have served me the best on my journey is 1)Humility 2)Patience 3)Resilience

Humility is vital in life because at any given moment what we have can be taken from us.

Patience is something that is developed when you don’t reach your goals in the time frame you have set for yourself. When i was younger i struggled with patience but adversity and time helped me value the virtue of it.

Resilience is what separates those who achieve and those who don’t. Life is all about your ability to bounce back. That can be developed with a positive mindset that everything will benefit you in the end.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

The Bible has and will always be the most impactful book I’ve ever read.

It makes you understand the importance of having faith in God even when you don’t understand him. It gives advice on every aspect of life. It amazes me how a book written before any of us currently living was on the planet but yet it’s still the most current book 📖 sold. In my times of darkness i looked for encouragement and wisdom from the Bible and i found plenty. My favorite scripture that gave me solace then and still gives me solace now is…

Proverbs 3:5
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;” ‭‭
