Meet Lindsey Anderson

We recently connected with Lindsey Anderson and have shared our conversation below.

Lindsey, thank you so much for making time for us. We’ve always admired your ability to take risks and so maybe we can kick things off with a discussion around how you developed your ability to take and bear risk?

Every new risk in life is going to either lead you to success or failure, but we see the most growth and learning through our failures. You have to be willing to fail to succeed. And that’s scary stuff! But it’s worth it. Something that helped me get to this mindset is building confidence through trying. It sounds silly, but having the courage to put yourself in a role or task that’s uncomfortable for you builds self confidence within yourself. (Even if you gave it your best try and it didn’t work out.) Confidence is built by trying new things and putting in effort to things that scare us. Whether it’s launching a new business, trying a new class, conquering a fear, or having a hard conversation- simply trying builds our own strength and courage. The more you do this, the easier it is to take risks. I’ve been blessed to have role models and mentors that really speak life and encourage me through every new challenge. Find people that support you and believe in you, and listen to what they say!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m very passionate about all things creative. I’ve loved video editing and design since I was a kid, as well as interior design. This led me to starting a boutique social media marketing agency! LUXELY helps real estate agents excel at their social media and increase their marketing. We help agents elevate their listings, position themselves as a local expert, and get more visibility through building a connection on social media. It’s really fun because I get to do the things I love while helping others be successful and shine on social.

We are known for being highly personalized for each client. A lot of real estate marketing agencies offer templates or the same graphics for agents across the board. At LUXELY, we create personalized content and plans for every agent and team that we work with. We provide them with hyper localized content, a planned strategy, and a powerhouse team that cranks out content! We also encourage our agents to get behind the camera and show off their personality!

I love seeing our realtors succeed with their social media. One of the coolest moments I’ve witnessed was when an agent we work with got featured in a magazine for showing off her cocktail recipes on social media! People love personalization!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Become really good at what you do, and let others be good at what they do. Lean on them for their areas of expertise. Don’t try to do it all yourself, there are others that will know more in areas that you don’t, so don’t be scared to lean on them for that.

2. “Onward”. There are going to be obstacles that come at you left and right with any new business, role, or endeavor you start, but you have to be able to not let it bog you down and keep moving onward. Action always beats indecision. If you’re scared about something, sit on it for a day, and then take action.

3. Create vision boards and set goals for your business/work and personal life. Doing this allows you to see envision the future you want to work towards. We can’t control everything that happens to us, but we can plan and set goals for ourselves to expand our creativity, our mindset, and give us something to work towards.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

I’m a to-do list girl, so I always make lists or write out my thoughts. When feeling overwhelmed with things to do, I break them down into tasks I can do each day instead of all at once. This also gets it out of my brain so I can focus! When overwhelmed with life, it’s time to journal. I write down what I’m thinking, feeling, and anything that comes to mind.
