Meet Destiny Woods

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Destiny Woods. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Destiny below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Destiny with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

I owe my work ethic to my incredible parents. They are both entrepreneurs who came up from the bottom.

Growing up, I watched their drive and dedication to generate generational wealth for our family. It took more than hard work; it took persistence and perseverance, from working overnights in the corporate world to owning their own businesses and choosing their schedules.

Watching them stay resilient through everything in life, I absorbed their hustle mindset from my parents, but they also instilled the importance of staying committed to my goals.

The quote “work hard, play later,” is a mantra I carry with pride, reminding me that every effort I make today is a step toward the life I envision. My parent’s legacy of determination inspires me every day to chase my dreams with the same passion they showed me.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Welcome to 2LashedOut, my passion project that embodies who I am as a quality lash extension service provider. I take pride in offering phenomenal, trendy eyelash sets that enhance the natural beauty of everyone who wears them. This summer, I decided to invest in myself and my brand by taking a brow class. I learned the fundamentals of brow lamination, tinting, and waxing, and I’m excited to launch these new services soon as I continue to practice and refine my skills.

My entrepreneurial spirit has always been alive. I remember the thrill of selling lemonade on the corner of my street as a kid, then moving on to baking and selling candied grapes and banana pudding in high school. It was the candied grapes that changed everything; I finally surpassed my expenses and made my first profit, which I proudly used to buy my first pair of AirPods. That moment felt like a victory and fueled my desire to keep exploring new ventures.

My journey into the world of lashing began in my senior year of high school. My mom jokingly mentioned the luxury of having unlimited lash fills from her daughter if I became a lash technician, and that sparked my interest. My parents supported me by investing in my first lash class, but they also made a deal: I had to commit to this path or pay them back. That challenge kept me focused, and I quickly fell in love with the art of lashing. Meeting so many amazing young women, sharing stories, venting, and forming genuine friendships through my work has been incredibly rewarding.

Now, I’m in my third year of lashing and have recently established my business as an LLC. While I rebranded to Beauty and Bliss Global for a more professional touch, I still operate under the name 2LashedOut. Over the years, I’ve built a loyal clientele in both Douglasville, Georgia, and Nashville, Tennessee, where I moved for college in 2022. My approach is simple: I stay true to myself, maintain professionalism, and treat each client as a friend. It’s this authentic connection that keeps my clients coming back, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Passion, Preserverance, and Prosperity. These are the three qualities that contributed to my journey.

My advice to anyone who is fresh in their entrepreneurial journey is to foster a genuine passion for what you are doing. This will fuel you to get up in the morning and provide a sense of purpose.

Two, Be consistent and show perseverance, because life will happen but that does not mean you stop what you started. You actually need to go harder. The only way through a storm is to go through it, but you choose your attitude going through it.

Lastly, envision a life that you are meant to live, and go after it. Unlock all of your potential and become self-motivated to be able to achieve the life you deserve.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

One of the biggest challenges I face is balancing a full college class schedule while maintaining good grades and running my business. It can be tough to keep my clients happy and booked while also exploring other passions in my life. Recently, I discovered a love for giving back, which has led me to engage in community service and volunteer opportunities. I’m excited to share that I’ve just taken on the role of Community Service Chair at an organization at my school, but this added responsibility makes time management even more crucial.

Despite the hustle, I’ve learned the importance of perseverance. I often find myself staying up a little later to finish assignments or taking on extra clients to keep everything running smoothly. However, I also recognize the necessity of self-care. I make it a point to schedule free days for myself, allowing my mind to recharge and heal from the daily hustle and bustle. This balance is essential, as it helps me stay grounded and focused on my goals, all while nurturing the various aspects of my life.
