Hi Lawre’en , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I would have to give myself that credit. I’ve endured some unimaginable things and times, each time I’d pray, heal, and keep going. No matter what’s happened to me, I just keep going because each time God has been with me and I always came out better than I went in!

I am Miss GorgeousNina and I am a MUA/hairstylist. What’s special about what I do is the diversity in beauty. I love meeting new people, doing makeup makes me the happiest. I started my brand in honor of my dad. Paul is his middle name. I also recently found out that my grandfather (who’s middle name is Paul too) was a famous painter and one of his paintings has been recreated as a mural in Hannah hall at Texas Southern University so I’m excited to visit and get some inspiration. My brand is everything to me because it represents who I am. So what’s new, well since this is a rebrand everything is getting a makeover. I’m excited to welcome more beautiful woman to my beauty garden.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would say 3 most impactful things about my journey are: 1. How you treat people
2. Communication
3. Be Knowledgeable about your craft
The advice I’d have is stay true to yourself and your brand. Do things your way, and lastly don’t be influenced by the “NOW” do you!
Always remember, how you treat people is IMPORTANT!
What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
My biggest area of growth has been learning to engage more with my social media audiences and skincare. In the beauty field so many things go hand and hand, I’m always open to learn things, different techniques, meet new people and experience more.
