Jared, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism is deeply rooted in my upbringing and the positive role models I’ve had throughout my life, from my parents to my sports coaches. Growing up as an athlete, I learned valuable lessons about resilience and teamwork. In sports, you experience more losses than wins, and developing a healthy outlook in the face of defeat has significantly shaped my perspective.
I often rely on my sense of humor to navigate through tough situations. For instance, when I find myself facing a challenge, I might jokingly say, “Man, this really blows,” as I choose to move forward. This blend of humor and a positive mindset helps me maintain a morale boost, reminding me that every setback is just another stepping stone. Ultimately, it’s this combination of strong role models and a lighthearted approach that fuels my optimism and keeps me looking forward.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Confidence, hard work, and determination have been the most impactful qualities in my journey. As a musician, when you walk onstage in a room full of people you have to be confident and stay true to yourself. There is a lot of ego in the music industry so you have to be able to not allow that to hurt or impact you in any way. You have to allow people to be the way they want to and remain unaffected by it. Hard work is important because it takes relentless effort to achieve continuous growth. People can tell if you put no effort into something versus when you put your passion behind it. Nothing comes easy and you have to remind yourself that there are a billion other people out there that could be working harder than you. The music industry is one of the toughest industries. If you want to be a successful musician, you have to accept that it takes a lot of grinding and not giving up when things don’t happen quickly. When your passion starts to get tested, your determination is what kicks in to fuel the flame in order to find that passion again.
For newcomers, start with these three things to build a strong foundation. This will help make you stronger in all aspects and more willing to appreciate the grind.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I find myself feeling overwhelmed, I try my best to organize the reason why I’m feeling that way into mini tasks so I can knock them down one by one. The thing about being overwhelmed is it can only get worse if left unattended and will turn into a snowball effect So my piece of advice would be to get the jump on it while you can and not to leave it for later. It might seem daunting at first but the more you tackle it bit by bit, the more manageable and less overwhelming it will be.
