Meet James Zielenski

We were lucky to catch up with James Zielenski recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have James with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My work ethic stems from a combination of personal values and the examples set by those around me. Growing up, I witnessed my parents work tirelessly to achieve their goals and provide for our family. They taught me the importance of perseverance, responsibility, and doing every job with pride, no matter how big or small.

Over time, I’ve also developed a strong internal drive to excel and make a meaningful impact in everything I do. I believe in being dependable, going the extra mile, and continuously seeking ways to improve. For me, a solid work ethic isn’t just about putting in the hours; it’s about showing up with the right attitude, being prepared to face challenges, and staying committed to delivering the best results possible.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

At Coastal Chiropractic Clinic, I specialize in providing care, and helping my community stay healthy and active. What excites me most about my work is the ability to make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether it’s helping someone find relief from chronic pain, seeing a parent or grandparent be able to play with their children, helping a golfer improve their play, or helping patients live a healthier lifestyle. I’m driven by the positive impact my work can have.

What sets us apart is our commitment to personalized care, and our techniques. I take pride in going above and beyond to ensure my patients feel seen, valued, and supported.

Right now, we’re thrilled about being and Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) provider. For example, addressing chronic shoulder pain caused by a repetitive strain injury, such as rotator cuff tendinitis from desk work or sports.

I’d love for folks to know that our mission goes beyond basic chiropractic adjustments. We’re here to keep our patients as active as they want to be. I’m truly grateful to be able to share this journey with you all.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Resilience: Challenges and setbacks are inevitable in any journey, but resilience has allowed me to face obstacles with determination and move forward despite difficulties. Building resilience involves maintaining a positive mindset, finding lessons in failures, and staying focused on long-term goals. My advice to those starting out is to embrace challenges as opportunities to grow and never let temporary setbacks define your potential.

Adaptability: The ability to pivot and adjust to changing circumstances has been crucial. Whether it’s learning new technologies, responding to market trends, or shifting strategies, adaptability has helped me stay relevant and thrive. To develop adaptability, I recommend staying open-minded, stepping outside your comfort zone, and seeking diverse experiences that challenge your perspective.

Lifelong Learning: Knowledge is power, and a commitment to continual learning has been foundational. Whether through formal education, mentorship, or self-study, I’ve always sought to deepen my expertise and expand my skills. For those early in their journey, I suggest cultivating curiosity and being proactive about learning. Take courses, seek mentors, and always ask questions—you never know where the answers might lead you.

My final piece of advice is to stay patient and consistent. Progress often comes in small, incremental steps, but each step adds up over time. Stay committed, remain flexible, and believe in your ability to grow. Your journey is unique, and the qualities you nurture today will define the success you achieve tomorrow.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, the first thing I do is take a step back and turn to prayer. Spending time with the Lord brings me a sense of peace and clarity that nothing else can. I pray for guidance, wisdom, and strength to navigate the challenges I’m facing, and it reminds me that I’m not carrying the weight of everything alone. It’s a comforting reminder that God has a greater plan, even when life feels uncertain.

Another source of strength for me during these moments is my wife. She has been such a blessing in my life, and her support, encouragement, and wisdom often help me see things from a different perspective. Together, we’ll take time to pray, talk, and lean on each other for strength, trusting in the Lord’s plan.

My advice to others is to create space in your day for these moments of reflection and connection—whether it’s time spent in prayer, leaning on your spouse or loved ones, or simply pausing to listen for God’s guidance. Trust that His timing and plan are perfect, and allow yourself to find peace in His presence and in the love and support of those around you. It’s in these quiet, intentional moments that I often find the strength and clarity I need to keep moving forward.
