Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Josh & Crystal with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Our work ethic is shaped by our culture and family traditions, where hard work and perseverance have always been the foundation of everything we do. We learned firsthand from watching our parents and grandparents work hard for what they had and always striving for excellence. This strong foundation has shaped our approach to business and has driven us to succeed. Additionally, our passion for problem-solving is another factor that drives our strong work ethic. While visiting Mexico, we experienced firsthand the challenges many faced of living without basic necessities. This inspired us to find creative solutions and work tirelessly to improve people’s lives by building solar water heaters. Whether it was building solar water heaters or designing tiny homes, we’ve always strived to make a positive impact through our work

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

We specialize in building affordable tiny homes, but what truly sets us apart is giving our customers the freedom to design a space that feels uniquely theirs, a place they can truly call home. We recently launched our most affordable model yet, the Model X. It’s a thoughtfully designed studio layout that includes everything needed for comfortable living. On top of that, we’ve built a close-knit community of supporters who share our passion. As a way of giving back, we’re excited to announce our plan to gift a Model X to one of our dedicated supporters when we reach our goal of 100k followers on TikTok! @pacificatinyhomes

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

First and foremost, having the support of family, and each other, has been invaluable. Their encouragement and guidance every step of the way have made a huge difference. We were also fortunate to have a family background in construction and Josh’s expertise in plumbing, which gave us a strong foundation to build on. Lastly, staying organized, communicating and always striving for efficiency in everything we do has been essential to our success.

Our advice for anyone starting a business is to have a clear plan and be well-prepared. Create a checklist for everything, from daily tasks to the essential steps needed to launch your business. Make sure you’ve covered all the basics, like obtaining your license, developing marketing strategies, building your website, selecting the right software, planning your sales approach, and organizing manufacturing processes. A business is just like the human body that’s why it’s crucial to have a solid structure in place; every part of the business is essential and plays a significant role in its success. As a leader, it’s important to be trustworthy, creative, understanding, and to lead with strength and vision.
