Meet Kyle Langford

We recently connected with Kyle Langford and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyle , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Through life’s curve balls. There have been several ups and downs and I always try to see the positive in every situation. I think a lot of that comes from my father and seeing him raise me on his own. He always told me that things will be different in 6 months.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I like to think that I am crafty. I love making things. I love art whether it’s drawing, painting, making tie dye and bracelets with my kids. I want to show my kids that with hard work and dedication you can do anything in the world.

My biggest goal is to spread my work to other people. I sell everything from prints, original paintings, clock paintings, bookmarks, tie dye products ranging from shirts, hoodies, bags, even socks.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I would say creativity is something that has helped me in many ways. If you don’t have creativity in art you will find yourself blocked. Drawing has always been something I have been skilled at. But skill isn’t enough you really have to work at it. Learn from other artists. I think that leaning on other artists and their ideas can be very useful. And biggest thing I would say is determination. If you really work at what it is you want to do you will be successful

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

The biggest obstacle I have is exposure. People not seeing my work. The only way to really get anywhere in the art industry is for people to see your work. I have been trying to use social media as a tool to get more exposure. That seems to be where the art game is going these days.
