We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ariana Poirier. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ariana below.
Ariana, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
One mantra that has been on repeat throughout my life and career is, “You can achieve what you want if you’re willing to work hard for it.” My work ethic is a huge part of my values and is the foundation of my journey to fractional consulting and building a successful business. I’m fortunate to have parents who modeled how to achieve their aspirations through collaboration and hard work. Through their example, I learned first hand what can be accomplished with a vision, commitment, and determination to pursue my dreams. I learned from them that manifesting means rolling up your sleeves to make your goals happen, even if that means moving mountains to get there. They provided support and encouraged my independence, which helped me take risks and make mistakes; lessons that have allowed me to grow and build my confidence.
My work ethic has afforded me a diverse career across various industries and organizational cultures. It has taught me to never stop learning; combining my multi-passionate spirit with a “how hard can it be attitude” when approaching new challenges and tasks. This rich background and unique experiences have provided me with a front-row seat to the complexities of the modern workplace. I’ve witnessed first-hand the impact of change on individuals and teams – from the exhilarating highs of successful transformations to the daunting lows of poorly executed initiatives.
I’ve come to realize that successful organizational change is fundamentally about how people work together. It’s about establishing a shared vision, committing to a plan of action, and cultivating inspiration through employee engagement and support. By prioritizing the human element, organizations can build resilience, foster innovation, and achieve lasting results. My approach focuses on empowering individuals and teams to navigate change confidently, ultimately driving organizational success.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As a Change Management Consultant, I specialize in helping businesses navigate complex organizational transformations. With experience across diverse industries, I’ve witnessed firsthand the impact of effective and ineffective change strategies. My focus is on the human element of change, empowering individuals and teams to embrace and drive transformation.
I leverage customized frameworks to facilitate change adoption and success. By developing leaders and change champions, I create a culture of innovation and resilience. My fractional approach allows me to offer flexible, cost-effective solutions to small and medium-sized organizations.
To further empower leaders, I’m launching an Agile Change Leadership course in Spring 2025. This program leverages psychometric assessments and proven change theories to develop agile leaders who can build high-performing teams and drive successful change initiatives.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Prioritize networking early in your journey. Books, podcasts, and classes are great resources for knowledge, but there’s so much to learn from others with a simple conversation. I encourage folks to reach out to your network and meet with as many people as possible. Ask lots of questions, and share what you know. Not only will you learn a ton, but a huge part of business is done through word of mouth and networking.
2. Commit to the long game. We often see people become overnight successes, but many times there’s a lot of work done upfront that we don’t see. There is no such thing as instant gratification in business (at least from my experience). Pace yourself and enjoy the journey.
3. Don’t let people make you feel like you don’t belong. Imposter syndrome is just a byproduct of internalized doubt and fear of judgment. Remember that your knowledge and capabilities are unique and highly valued. Regardless of what people say, you deserve every bit of success you earn.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
