Meet Candelaria González

We recently connected with Candelaria González and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Candelaria, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from my parents, especially my father. Born and raised in rural southern Mexico, he started working at around 7 years old. After marrying my mother, he made the bold decision to immigrate to the United States in search of better opportunities and eventually brought her here as well.

My father has always provided for his family, even during times when work was scarce. After becoming a U.S. citizen, he took one of the biggest risks a man with three children could take: he started his own business.

For the next 20 years, both of my parents ran their family-owned business tirelessly, working every single day without taking time off. Witnessing their unwavering dedication, determination, and hard work taught me that those qualities truly pay off.

They didn’t have to sit me down and tell me the value of hard work—I learned it by observing them. The example they set shaped the strong work ethic I carry with me today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

As a Latina Life Coach, I help my clients take risks and start over on their terms. Whether it’s starting and growing a business, leaving an unfulfilling relationship, or creating a new career path, I’ve had the privilege of guiding them through transformative changes.

I love the work I do because it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of my clients’ journeys. Watching their progress and evolution unfold over the months we work together is both a gift and an honor. One of the best parts of this work is following up with them later and seeing how they continue to grow, shining their light in the world.

As First-Gen Latinas, we try to do everything on our own even when it’s a struggle. I want to normalize asking for help and receiving guidance because it is necessary and available. Instead of continuing to push through on your own, hiring a coach can accelerate your progress substantially. That’s what I’m here to help with.

I work with clients via private coaching during the span of 4 months. My coaching program involves weekly calls, voice/text support, and a progress plan.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I can confidently say that developing a neutral mindset has been the most impactful aspect of my journey. By this, I mean becoming a “gentle observer” of my own thoughts and feelings—removing judgment and emotional reactivity. This skill has been life-changing because it has allowed me to progress much faster, without getting caught up in reactions or self-imposed drama. Becoming curious about my thoughts has helped me understand myself better and rewrite limiting stories and beliefs, leading to significant growth and progress.

Secondly, harnessing the quality of courage has made a massive impact on my journey. Change is scary, and at times it can feel paralyzing, but choosing to be courageous despite the fear has empowered me to show up for myself and create the life I desire. I often remind myself that I’m doing this not just for myself but for future generations, and that perspective gives me the strength to keep being brave.

Finally, learning about manifestation and the laws of the Universe has profoundly transformed my life. This knowledge has helped me take full accountability and responsibility for my reality instead of feeling like a victim of my circumstances. Realizing that we are always manifesting—whether we believe in it or not—has encouraged me to live with greater intention. From the people I share my energy with to the food I consume, I am consciously creating my reality.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is a First-Generation Latina in her 30s who feels stuck and is holding herself back from reaching her full potential. She’s in an unfulfilling long-term relationship, which is causing her to settle for less in other areas of her life. By denying herself her true desires in her relationship, this pattern spills over into her lifestyle and career.

She struggles with confidence in her decisions and fears creating her own path because she worries things won’t “work out.” She often feels the need to have everything figured out, to be “ready” or “perfect” before taking action.

Deep down, she knows she’s destined for more—destined for greatness—but she feels lost and unsure of how or where to begin.
