Meet Tish Roberts

We recently connected with Tish Roberts and have shared our conversation below.

Hi TISH, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I believe that the resiliency that I divinely possess comes from years of life experience and overcoming challenges that most people unfortunately don’t. I was the first out of five children born to a single teen mother, so a lot of the responsibilities that come with having so many children fell directly on to me. As a young girl, I learned very quickly how to survive, cope, and make things happen. I learned whether you are ready or not, things and complicated circumstances will happen beyond your control. I learned that being able to mentally accept and process the problem, helps you do critical thinking for a successful outcome. There are many times in life that we all get knocked down, but the win is being able to pick yourself back up!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

The great thing about my brand is that it is multifaceted. I originally started “Classy Sassy Par-Tease/Productions” as a platform to produce live events including my one woman shows and promoting local talent such as bands, singers, comedians and DJ’s.

Throughout my career as a professional entertainer, including working in Hollywood as an actress, I have both seen and experienced some of the worst aspects of the entertainment business. Those situations forced me to expand my brand to not only be a tool to achieve a selfish or ego driven aggrandizing career, but to use my platform to make a positive impact on the word and pop culture. “Classy Sassy Par-Tease/Productions” has expanded its production of live events to include fund raisers and charity promotions.

The most important mission about my brand is bringing awareness and solutions to ending human trafficking, sex work and homelessness as it pertains to mostly women and children.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

By far, the most important quality is having a strong character. The reason why I am the person that I am is because of my relationship and love for God. The ability to keep an unwavering faith in your divine purpose, calling, and mandate on your life causes you to be driven as well as focused, The ability to have a great character comes from spiritual, mental and emotional development.

I attribute my charisma and personality to having people skills. There are many times were you just have to meet people where they are at in their own life journeys or not. What I mean by that is, there are truly some people in this world that are toxic, hateful and nasty. You as a positive and friendly person need to discern immediately if this individual is going to add insight and information to my life or is this person a dream killer. The ability to staying true and authentically yourself is learning how to set boundaries early on when navigating your way through life and people.

As I mentioned before my relationship with Jesus Christ has led me to attaining my degrees as a Theologian. The Bible is full of principles, precepts, and lessons that are very beneficial for not only having a purposeful life, but also building a successful brand and giving back to those who don’t have or have not found their voices yet.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

The most important lesson that my mother taught me was to never be a victim. As I mentioned before, she was a single mother and we a Black Americans. She taught me early on that it wasn’t our skin color that defines us but rather the decisions and choices that we make. There will always be consequences whether good or bad and we must take accountability regardless.
