Meet Sharessa Coleman

We were lucky to catch up with Sharessa Coleman recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sharessa , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

I keep my creativity alive by being open to learn. I look at other event stylist and I dissect their work and try to figure out how they did it and how I can edit it to make it my own. I will reach out to other designers and ask questions, I want to know the ends and outs. How can I take that design and make it an Events by Sharee.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

In 2021, after decorating her wedding reception, guest inquired about who did the balloon decor? and she created, ” Sharee Balloons Events, providing focal
Point balloon decor ”. As her business grew she decided to offer full decoration setups and rentals.
In October of 2022, she officially jumped into event planning and changed the name to Events by Sharee where she offered event planning, floral designs and rentals.
And landed her first two weddings clients for 2023. She fully planned it from start to finish (including all vendors) design, planned, & coordinated both events. She has always had a passion for design. And seeing her clients faces after planning, designing, & executing any event is Priceless. Events by Sharee is based in Lithia Springs, GA. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Three important qualities when starting an event stylist business. 1. Post your content. Always record start to finish or post before & after you transform any space. You may look at I’m not getting many views but remember it only takes one person to see your work and book. 2. Always be willing to learn. Design changes so be open to learning new design trends. Get mentors in your field to help you in your journey. 3. Listen to your clients! Go over everything with your client from start to finish. Ask them if they have any questions, reach out to them and give them updates of the design of event Make that first booking be a repeat booking.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

My biggest area of growth this year is knowing my worth. Stop lowering my standards to book a customer . Learning to know what to charge for my skills and design setups. When I design, I want my work to speak for itself . So if you reach out to Events by Sharee , you see my work and know you have chosen the right design stylist to bring your vision to life.
