Meet Porsha Henderson

We recently connected with Porsha Henderson and have shared our conversation below.

Porsha, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

For me, overcoming imposter syndrome has been all about realizing that my journey is mine and that’s what makes it special. I used to compare myself to everyone else, thinking I wasn’t doing enough or didn’t belong in certain spaces. But then I had to step back and remind myself: I’ve worked hard to get here, and the things I bring to the table whether it’s my creativity, my energy, or my skills are what set me apart. Nobody else has my exact story, and that’s my power.

Affirmations have really helped me quiet that inner critic. One I use a lot is, “I deserve to be in every room I walk into.” Another one is, “What I create is valuable, and people connect with it.” Saying these things to myself, out loud if I need to, and writing them helps shift my mindset when I’m feeling unsure.

Honestly, I’ve also just learned to take imposter syndrome as a sign that I’m leveling up. If I feel uncomfortable or out of place, it usually means I’m growing. So instead of letting it stop me, I’ve taught myself to lean into it. And when I start doubting myself, I look back at what I’ve already accomplished, it’s proof that I’m not here by accident. I’ve earned it, and I’ve got more to give.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I do a little bit of everything, but it all comes back to creating experiences that bring people together. I’m a mobile bartender, content creator, meditation coach, and the host of a YouTube podcast called Potions By P. Whether it’s through cocktails, storytelling, or mindfulness, I love connecting with people and making moments unforgettable.

With Potions By P, I interview interesting guests, everyone from entrepreneurs to creatives while we make cocktails together. It’s been such a fun way to combine my love of mixology with real conversations. Outside of that, I partner with restaurants to create content, like reviews and behind-the-scenes vlogs, which lets me highlight amazing food and drinks while bringing some personality to their brands.

On the bartending side, I run private and corporate events, offering custom drink menus, beautiful setups, and a fun experience for guests. I also host cocktail classes, which are always a hit for everything from team-building events to date nights. And then there’s the meditation piece. I’ve been working with businesses to host corporate sound baths, which is such a cool way to bring wellness into the workplace.

For me, it’s all about creating something special, whether it’s a cocktail, a moment of calm, or content that people can relate to. Potions By P is all about connection and a little magic, and I’m excited to see where I can take it next!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three things have been key to my journey: adaptability, storytelling, and building relationships.

Adaptability has been everything. Whether I’m behind the bar, creating content, or hosting a sound bath, no two experiences are the same. Learning to go with the flow and adjust quickly, whether it’s handling a chaotic event or switching up content plans last minute, has made all the difference. Stay open to learning and don’t get too stuck on things going exactly as planned because being flexible can lead to opportunities you didn’t even expect.

Storytelling ties everything I do together. Whether it’s a cocktail, a video, or a meditation session, I’m always thinking about how to connect with people through the story I’m telling. Focus on your unique voice and perspective. Don’t copy what everyone else is doing because what makes you stand out is you.

Building relationships has been the foundation of everything. Whether it’s partnering with brands, restaurants, or clients, I’ve learned the importance of being genuine and showing up for people. Networking isn’t just about business. It’s about building trust and creating connections that last. Be yourself, support others, and don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek advice from people who inspire you.

The best thing you can do early on is trust the process. Focus on your growth, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there even when it feels scary. That’s where the magic happens.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always looking to connect and collaborate with people and brands that align with what I’m passionate about—creating unforgettable experiences, sharing great stories, and building real connections. Whether you’re a restaurant that needs fresh content, a brand looking to elevate your presence with creative ideas, or a business interested in hosting cocktail classes or corporate sound baths, let’s make something happen.

I’m also down to work with creatives, entrepreneurs, and event planners who want to bring unique ideas to life. Collaboration is how we grow and do something special, and I’m all about making that magic together.
