Meet Jasmine Noghrey

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jasmine Noghrey a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Jasmine , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Finding my purpose has been a journey shaped by curiosity, compassion, and the desire to make a meaningful difference. I always knew I wanted to work in the healthcare field but wasn’t exactly sure which path to take. I started exploring different roles and eventually became a behavioral therapist. It was during this time that I realized I had a natural ability to connect with my clients and help them make real progress in their lives. Seeing the impact I was able to make was incredibly rewarding, and it inspired me to explore how I could help a wider range of people across different stages of life.

That’s when I discovered occupational therapy. What drew me to OT was the way we use everyday, fun activities to help people develop or regain skills—whether it’s something they never learned or something they lost due to injury or illness. The hands-on, creative approach of OT truly spoke to me. It’s amazing to witness how small changes in daily activities can lead to huge improvements in someone’s independence and quality of life. Being a part of that transformation is deeply fulfilling.

Alongside OT, I’m passionate about teaching special education. Working with children and adults with various disabilities has been one of the most rewarding experiences. What I love most about it is how much I learn from my students—they constantly teach me new ways to see the world, solve problems, and connect with others. It’s humbling and inspiring to be part of their growth, and I feel privileged to play a role in helping them build adaptive skills that enhance their lives.

Ultimately, my purpose is rooted in the idea of helping others live fuller, more independent lives, and I’m grateful every day to be able to do this work. Whether it’s through occupational therapy or special education, I love being able to make a positive difference in people’s lives and help them achieve their goals.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m the founder of Joojeh Joy, a sensory toy box company that offers carefully curated, inclusive items designed for all ages and abilities. As an occupational therapist and special education instructor, I personally select each product based on the latest sensory and OT research, ensuring they are evidence-based and proven to be effective. What makes Joojeh Joy special is our commitment to creating sensory tools that not only engage but also promote learning, self-regulation, and development in a fun and accessible way.

One of the things I’m most proud of is how versatile and inclusive our sensory items are—they can be used by everyone, from children to adults, whether in therapy sessions or at home. We’ve collaborated with numerous organizations and schools for fundraising events and have been featured in pediatric clinics throughout California. Our products have helped children with sensory processing challenges, individuals on the autism spectrum, and even those going through chemotherapy or rehabilitation.

What’s exciting right now is that we’re looking to expand and grow even more in various settings. We aim to bring our sensory items into more schools, therapy centers, hospitals, and homes, helping as many people as possible. We’re also continuously evolving our product line to meet the needs of our clients, and we’re excited to introduce new products that will soon be available. One of our goals is to create partnerships with more organizations and expand nationally so that our sensory boxes can support children and adults in diverse communities.

Joojeh Joy isn’t just a toy company—it’s about making inclusive sensory tools more accessible and helping people of all abilities thrive through play. I’m passionate about spreading the word and raising awareness about the importance of sensory regulation, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to share our products with the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I think the three most important qualities that have been impactful in my journey are genuine care and compassion, a commitment to continuous learning, and adaptability.

First and foremost, genuinely caring about the individuals I work with is crucial. I truly want the best for my clients, and that comes from a place of love and compassion. It’s not just about helping them meet goals but really being invested in their success and well-being. I believe people can feel when someone genuinely cares, and that connection allows for more meaningful progress. For anyone starting their journey, I’d encourage them to always put their heart into their work and stay connected to why they’re doing it. When you truly care, it shows in everything you do.

Secondly, a dedication to continuous learning has been incredibly important. I’m always looking for ways to improve and grow as a practitioner. There’s always new information, research, and strategies in the fields of occupational therapy and special education, so staying up-to-date is essential. I’m constantly researching new approaches, learning about different diagnoses, and adjusting my methods to fit each client’s unique needs. My advice here would be to stay curious and committed to growth—your clients will benefit when you’re dedicated to being the best version of yourself as a professional.

Lastly, adaptability is key. Every person learns and grows differently, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. It’s important to be flexible and tailor your strategies to fit each individual’s strengths and needs. Being adaptable allows me to provide the best care and support for my clients, and I’d encourage anyone early in their journey to embrace this mindset. Be willing to pivot, try new things, and recognize that the best solutions come from being open to change.

These three qualities—genuine care, continuous learning, and adaptability—have helped shape my journey, and I believe they’re essential for anyone who wants to make a meaningful impact.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, I’m definitely looking for opportunities to collaborate and expand the reach of Joojeh Joy. I would love to bring our sensory toy boxes into more clinics, healthcare settings, hospitals, and schools, as well as partner with organizations for fundraising events. Our goal is to make sensory tools and resources accessible to a broader audience, supporting individuals of all ages and abilities in various settings.
